First off I find it completely impossible to fit in 30 minutes on a daily basis for exercise there is no way I could manage 60. Not with todays busy schedules........but that is my thoughts. I think portion control, food choices and water should really make a difference and although the loss's are tiny over time I think they will add up. Have fun in CA Nancy and congrats on your rain!
Good morning everyone! I did not sleep my cramps had me up three times but I did get up at 6:00 when the alarm went off. Met Aunt Linda at 6:30 and we walked for 30 minutes. She is going to clock the milage on her way to work this morning but we believe it was about 1.5 miles. Not a bad start. We hope to walk again either Saturday or Sunday. I am hoping to get another one in tomorrow morning before my crazy running begins. I have already grabbed my shower, just need to blow dry my hair and finish my morning tea. I have "steel cut oats" simmering on the stove now (it's been 20 minutes already and they still have another 10 to go) so I will eat take them with me into the office with some apple sauce. I made extra and will put some into the frig and just warm them another morning. I have some college phone calls to make today while at work for Rob and I HAVE to leave at 2:00 because I want to be on the road out to see the horse by 3:00. Katie has a lesson on Daniel and I want to be on time. After her lesson I need to hit the party supply store for the rest of my paper goods for Saturday afternoons graduation party. Then after dinner I need to head to the grocery store for the rest of my stuff needed to make Rob's graduation cake. Although I am thinking of just ordering one from the bakery to make my life easier. I need to talk to Rob about it and see how he feels. We have a tent that will be set up Friday night over our patio since they are talking showers on and off all day. I have about 50 60 people expected and I can not put them all in my house, just too hot. Well my thankfuls for this Thursday is my small gain this past month as opposed what could have been a big gain weight wise. Summer time my favorite time of the year. Rob's registration for Farmingdale college. Bill survived the big 50. My family and friends.
Another sunny day here but the humidity is creeping back in and looks like rain coming sometime tomorrow and right through the weekend. I won't be surprised if it rains all next week as our vacation weeks over the past few years have involved bad weather, ER visits, and a whole host of other things that we'll just say weren't very pleasant!
Well I had one good morning of waking up with the alarm and that's where it ended. What is wrong with me? I've never had this problem for this length of time. I'm trying to figure out to reconfigure my morning but so far I haven't had any brainstorms. I was even in bed before 10 last night.
I then had the pleasant surprise of DH yelling into me while I was in the shower that he had accidently left the freezer open all night and that I needed to take a look and see what needed to go. Why is it always "I" have to do this. If something is mushy and gooey you can't refreeze it. I asked him to please just remove everything that was warm and not frozen anymore-no I needed to do it. Then I get an apology for leaving the freezer open-that happens just something that happened although I did get a lecture when I did it-I had to explain that "I" shouldn't always be expected to take care of these things. Anyone can tell what's defrosted! Rant of the day and again boys are stupid!
Warm and humid day so turkey burgers on the grill and I have a pasta salad all made and I think I'll grill some zucchini. I'm sure there are more baseball bat sized ones out there.
2 more working days to the week. Never know quite what to expect when I walk through the door of that place lately.
Patty-I hope your sister takes your advise and talks to her doctor. There's always the chance that her reading is high because of nerves but a number like that really should be monitored. When the doctor first found mine elevated I was monitored for a couple of weeks and when they discovered it consistently high that's when medication was discussed. Nobody like to take those pills but the consequences of untreated high blood pressure are much worse!
Cl-Deb-Did you get that walk in?
Nancy-glad you guys are getting some much needed rain. Hope you have a great trip to CA!
Well better get moving still have to pack my bag for work. I've been a total flop in the exercise department but at least I can try to keep the healthy eating thing going!
Almost forgot my thankfuls-2 more days of the work week and then a vacation week! Thankful that more didn't have to be thrown out of the freezer. Thankful for home friends and family.
Thinking of all of you and saying thank you to all of you here! Have a great day!
It's afternoon already. Hard to believe. I'm moving slowly today, still in my PJ's.
Rob did a great job with taking Dad to the dr. yesterday and got tons of compliments from people on what a good grandson he is. :-) The diagnosis was just what I had mentioned to the dr. at the other nursing home about 2 months ago. I asked if it might be that he wasn't voiding all the way and that the urine left behind was causing bacteria to grow and then causing UTI's. Sure enough, that's the cause. The urologist put him on Flomax for that and started him on antibiotics for the infection. UTI's can cause fatigue and confusion, which may be a bit of what we've seen lately. That's the last thing he needs. He has been doing well, all things considered, and enjoyed the "ride" out in the sun yesterday. Rob said they talked a lot. Mom followed in the car, then went to pick up his prescriptions.
I had my hair colored and barely trimmed yesterday. It was just my roots and left wet, but was still $115.00 before tip. I think that's really getting up there. It'd be different if she were painting my highlights and then styling it too, but she's getting awfully rich for my blood. I just like her work so much and her as a person. She's invited me to attend a
