Thanks for the beautiful scene in honor of my vacation week! Visualizing myself there with a big mug of coffee just sitting and enjoying the view-anyone care to join me?
Another lazy morning for me. I slept until 7:30 this morning-pretty unheard of for me even on a weekend. I did find a yummy fresh blueberry sauce recipe in Cooking Light so I made some pancakes and put the sauce over them. Trouble is...they were too good!
I need to do my grocery shopping this morning and then later this afternoon we're headed to DH's nieces house for a bbq for their oldest who is turning 8 today. More Emma time! And godmama has a bridal shower today so I'll just have to battle with DH for cuddle time!
I've been on the phone with both DD's while trying to post this so now I've got to quickly get dressed and head to the grocery store. I have a mani/pedi appointment for 11:30 so I'd better get moving!
Have a great day everyone! Patty-enjoy the cookout at your parents! Hope Mom is appropriately dressed for the occasion!

Patty enjoy your BBQ/Family time today. I decided to cater this time and it was well worth it. Although there is always clean up. Susan enjoy your vacation time. Are you getting two weeks back to back? Not sure if I understood. If so how does your office survive? Enjoy your Emma time and I hope the weather holds for you. But I doubt it since we seem to be getting drizzles and now I have thunder and lighting going on here.
Well I survived yesterday and man oh man was it ever hot and humid, but no rain! Glad we had the tent in the back yard though it was cooler under the tent and Bill hung a fan to help move the air. Company started to arrive at 3:00 and at 2:30 both Bill and I had not showered yet so we jumped into the pool. When I said casual I was casual, lol. Threw my shorts on, put my hair into a pony tail and no makeup. I threatened anyone with a camera, lol. Everyone arrived hungry to the chips were only out a short time when I said we might as well eat since the food was there and ready to go. No sense in making everyone wait and fill up with crappy food. I made the baked ziti but we had eggplant rolotini, chicken frances, and sausage and peppers. We had a 6 ft hero and lots of salads. I have left overs and that is what the family will be eating today. The party broke up between 10 and 11 and Bill was too exhausted to clean. Add the heat, a full belly and lots of Coronas. I drank water and diet 7-up so I stayed up until 1 and got it cleaned up and organized. Bill right now is delivering the borrowed tables and chairs. Billy and his friend returned our neighboors patio set and took down one of the tents. The tent guy is coming tommorrow to take down the big one. I have lots of laundry, I guess from sweating and the pool so that washer/dryer is going. Rob did well with his graduation gifts from our family and friends although I could have just given him the cash and not had the party, lol. But that is not the point it was in his honor and I enjoyed it as did everyone else. Thank goodness the weather held out and 99% of my clean up is already done. Back to my basics today with food, lol. Well I will try anyway. Have to use/eat those left overs. Food is too expensive to throw away. Have a great day everyone, enjoy the day. Hope your weather cooperates where you are.

Hi everyone...I am back from my week vacation at the mountain lake with my family ... it was wonderful; we rented a sailboat for the week and got good use out of it. We brought our bicycles which added to the fitness and fun ... I even took advantage of a ladies tennis clinic one morning which was fantastic! I am still a newbie to tennis but it was definitely inspiring. At the end, three women asked me to be the fourth for doubles (I could hardly believe it!) and I found that to be wonderful; nice female companionship and exercise. I hope I can find some women to team up with back home. The home cooked meals were great (yes, my "shake n bake" chicken for 26 turned out fine) and the sleep -- oh the sleep up in the mountains. Delicious.
My DS surprised me by participating in a soccer tournament in the rec program there and his team actually took the championship. My SO participated in a sailing race and came in first place. But we are really winners for all the love and companionship that we shared in our annual retreat.
Hugs to everyone, love catching up with you all,
Marianne
This sounds like a busy weekend for everybody.
