Good morning....
I'm sick of summer.
Donna
Good Morning,
First day of the week of vacation-and what are we doing today-not a clue! The weather is sort of iffy-looks one minute like it's going to rain and the next minute the sun is out. I had thought about heading out to Port Jefferson to walk around and have lunch at this little placed that has picnic tables and fresh fish and it overlooks the water by the ferry that takes you to Connecticut. There are also little shops to browse in but if the weather doesn't cooperate it's probably not worth the ride.
We had soaking rain yesterday along with thunder and lightening. The bbq was nice although because of the soggy weather we were inside. Although I got some Emma time DH did a good job of swooping her up and although he did share her a bit every time I saw him there he was with her again.
I did head out for an early morning walk. I figured I'd better head out early since the three HHH's are with us. The haze this morning was really thick. I walked about 3 miles-so that's one day in a row! My eating has been pretty consistent and loaded up on lots of fresh fruit yesterday.
DH wanted to finish reading Harry Potter so while he's doing that I guess I'll clean up a bit around here. Maybe I can talk DH into an afternoon movie. I'm trying a new burger this evening made with turkey sausage meat and ground sirloin and also trying broccolini-anyone ever try that? DD made a face since she's not a big vegetable lover. I'll let you know how it is.
Nice not to have a rush to the day! Hope everyone is in the driver's seat this morning and headed for a good start to the week!
Susan
No more time off needed...constantly reminded about how lucky I am (from hubby) to have the time off I do.
Patty, hope your new flock doesn't worry you like the last one did.
Miss P
Sorry the family gathering didn't go so well. Glad to hear you will have more time with this flock and can get yourself together around the house before they come.

Keep on keeping on!

Hello, all...lost a few days with the confusion here...good confusion. Son and granddaughters just left a little while ago and work called not to go...no electricity from the storms yesterday. So, here I am trying to recharge my batteries. And...here I go again with starting for the umpteenth time my healthy eating and exercising plan. Ended up losing it with the company. Can you believe July is just about over?
CL DEB..you sound like me with throwing all the " bad food " out today. My step mom is still here but I don't care...out it goes. Good job with getting out to walk with the humidity.
DONNA...what a great price for that fresh fish. I would not have been able to pass it up myself. The weather has been HHH and no end in sight unfortunately. Hope you have AC to get some relief.
JAZZERDEB...I have to admit, having time off is nice. I really don't have a schedule unless I am doing classes and the rest of the time I can just do what I need to when I want to. It is nice after years for raising a family and working part and/or full time. Go with the flow as Lori would say.
SUSAN...have a great week's vacation. It is nice in Pt Jeff and it is nice to browse the shops and eat at one of the restaurants. I like going there with girlfriends since it is about a 20 minute ride for us. Toast is a nice place to eat too, but if you are looking for fresh fish...where you go is better. Enjoy!
LORI...I saw your post about the whole hormone thing. HUGS and all I can say, it will get better. It sounds to me like you are going through perimenopause and well...it is not a nice thing to go through. At this point if the BCP isn't helping you might do better without it. And they can cause weight gain and water retention. I think we just have to bite the bullet and go through it no matter what and being on pills just pushes off the inevitable. I will be thinking of you...
Well...that is it for now...off to try to get my act together since some of the company has left.

Keep on keeping on!
