Hey Everyone!

You are not going to believe what is going on…I know this has nothing to do with health and fitness except to say it is impacting my personal health and fitness and need to blow off a little steam so thanks to anyone who has a kind ear...

I’ll try and make this as brief as I can:

So we’ve been looking at townhomes using Realtor.com and going to open houses.

Deb,

My condolences dealing with this jerk! Working in a law office that deals with real estate we do see the greed with some brokers and the lengths that they will go to to make a deal go so that a commission check is in their future.

We had an incident when we bought and sold 16 years ago. He wanted us to close on our sale before we had a place to live. I'm not sure where he thought we were supposed to live with a houseful of furniture and 3 kids. He actually wrote me a letter and told me I was taking the food from his kids mouths! I called the owner of the real estate office and he said oh well he shouldn't have done that. Looking back I should have sent a copy of the letter to the Realtor's Licensing Bureau and see what their opinion was!

I do hope that you find a nice new place obviously with someone other than "Dick"! Good luck!

Sounds like you should spend the $200 for an hour of the lawyer's time just to send a letter to "Dick, for short" (loved the irony of those three little words....LOL!) officially divorcing you and Jeff from D,FS.

All I could think of was Fatal Attraction (Fatal Transaction??), really creepy! Hope you blow the whistle on D,FS.

I went thru a similar situation with a lending company and was Billed 500.00 for cancellation of contract even though you have 3 business days to cancel any contract in Oregon..But because the dealer was in Michigan and I was here..I dont know it turned into a nightmare and i couldnt handle the stress and gave up and gave in my 500.00

Working everyday for a real estate attorney and dealing with brokers day in and day out my only words are watch out. Real estate brokers get greedy and most will say just about anything to make a deal happen. The broker does work on behalf of the seller if that is who the seller listed the property through. If the broker was working with you and showing you properties then he/she is working on your behalf but here they are paid by the seller at closing. I know each state has different rules and laws but I am sure each state has a Real Estate board that they have to report to and I suggest you contact them. If he is out of line saying he is entitled to a commission and keeps insisting that you "owe" him money for seeing two places I would make sure he is reported immediatly. A phone call to a local TV station or radio station might be worth the few minutes..........good luck!
