Had a nice last "workday" vacation day. It was very hot and humid but we've had the ac unit on since early this morning to keep the house temperature bearable. I decided to tackle one project that has been on my list. That was to clean out the refrigerator, take the shelves out and scrub them down. I actually took them outside and hosed them down. It seemed the easiest way to take care of it and an occasional spritz from the hose on me certainly didn't hurt. Tossed out some stuff in there that needed to go.
We had a quick lunch and then we went to see Hairspray. Fun movie. The movie let out about 4:15 and we decided instead of going home we would go and have an early dinner. We went to Bertuccis where they have brick oven pizza. Of course there was the right from the oven bread with a dish of olive oil to dip it in. I had a Caeser salad and a pizza with goat cheese, plum tomatoes, and sundried tomatoes. DH had a pizza with shrimp and not sure what else but that looked good too! I still ate too much even taking home 1/2 of the pizza.
Otto and I headed out for a walk when the sun was a little lower in the sky and now it's time to sit and relax.
DH spoke to his friend Joe (Luke's dad) they had to explain to Luke what was going on and what was wrong with him. They were going to treat him here at our local hospital but they found a doctor at Sloan Kettering which is a hospital reknown for treating all types of cancer. The doctor from here even recommended that they use this doctor they found. Apparently he treats a lot of children with this form of cancer. He'll enter the hospital on Monday to start his cancer treatment. Your continued good thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Hope everyone has had a good day and is looking forward to the weekend ahead!
Hi folks. You may have noticed that this is where I have been all summer; yes I am heavier but I am tired of thinking about it. Instead, I took tennis lessons, signed up for golfing, planned some fun trips with my family, bought some size large but cute clothes and did my best to forget about it. Maybe this is where I am, and if so, that is ok. It has been the best summer ever for me.
Still, I would like to knuckle down and drop ten pounds. I know tennis would be much easier, for example.
That is something I am going to think about after Labor Day.
