Yum Donna, coconut cake! Sounds like you had a bust but fun day. Belated happy birthday to your husband.

I am enjoying a quiet cup of tea while the washer and dryer are buzzing away. Everyone is still sleeping except me and the animals. The game plan was to get up early so Katie and I could head out to the barn to ride Daniel but she is still sleeping and after the walking yesterday I figured I would let her sleep until......... We have an invite to head over to our friends house for their sons birthday (17 today). We are invited for 2:00 but I might have to send Bill over ahead since we probley won't leave here before 10:00. I have to pick up some fresh corn on the cob from out east to

Good Morning,

Absolutely the perfect summer day here. The humidity seems to left and the temperature is at least 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. I have all the windows open and hope that I can keep them open and give the AC and the electric bill a rest!

Super busy day here yesterday. I haven't had a cleaning frenzy like that in awhile although for every task I accomplished I would find at least three to take their place in line. Obviously couldn't get to them all but I was very happy with what was accomplished. The sewer hole aka the upstairs bathroom got scrubbed and the icky shower liner changed, vaccumed, scrubbed down the downstairs bathroom, many loads of laundry done although some of that still remains in my laundry basket the others have to fend for themselves, kitchen scrubbed, and always trying to make things more organized in my teeny tiny kitchen moved some of my counter appliances around. It only makes me think my kitchen is bigger! I found some pinwheels steaks in the freezer to throw on the bbq, stir fried some zucchini and brown rice was presented for dinner. DH offers to turn the steaks over and then disappeared. Never ever leave that man alone with the bbq! Otto and I did enjoy an evening walk, my meals are written out on paper and I was in bed a little after 10 and although my 3 liters of water yesterday had me up and down a few times that was it for me until 7:15 this morning!

After all that yesterday I still have some time I need to spend wisely-food shopping-then a manicure and I think a wise decision would be to finally go look for a pair of sneakers. I have such a problem with the heels of sneakers and really need that extra cushioning in the heel. I've tried so many on-but think I need to spend a few more $ for a bit more sneaker. Sports Authority is offering a $15 coupon and I have a gift card from my birthday so that will be a good percentage off a new pair. Also broke my toothbrush holder in my cleaning frenzy so may need to head to Target for a few things.

DD and her BF are coming for dinner this evening. I'm going to attempt ribs-not one of my favorite meals and I'm not very good at making them. But I'm going to attempt to make them DD's BF's mom's way. I already have a pasta salad made.

Donna-in spite of the heat sounds like you had a fun family gathering. And the food sounded really good! Leftovers for LI?

CL-Deb-your day with Katie sounded really nice! Did you enjoy Phantom? DH and I saw that for our 25th anniversary. One of the first plays we ever saw and absolutely loved it!

Well have to see if my water is boiling and get out of here for grocery shopping!

Hope everyone enjoys a Super Sunday!

Those men sure can procrastinate when there is a 'honey do' that they don't want to do, can't they?

Yes-unfortunately the "w" word will be back in my vocabulary as of tomorrow AM. But in 2 weeks I'll be off again-the weeks were a little too close together but as an old timer at my job (over 10 years) I do get a 3rd week which at the moment I haven't quite decided when to take it.
