Saturday's Not So Good Girl Day

Good morning everyone! I finally mustered up the courage to get on the scale today. Thinking I should have cut a couple more inches off my hair !

I had an email weeks ago about being a "good girl". It spoke of always being there for others, putting their needs first, never saying no. It spoke of how women get so caught up in how good

Good Morning,
A beautiful day here on LI. The sun is shining and the humidity is low. It's actually almost cool out there this morning.
Working on not much sleep. First it was Otto needing to go out 2x in less than 2 hours and the next thing I know DS is talking to me about just being in an accident. He was coming home from his usual Friday night going out to dinner with friends and was about a mile from home and was stopped at a turning red light and heard screeching brakes from behind looks in his mirror to see a guy that is obviously not going to be able to stop in time. He hit DS and then pushed him forward into the intersection. The guy stumbled out of his car and offers to pay DS for the damage to his truck as DS is dialing 911. The guy was obviously intoxicated, DS gave the plate number to the dispatcher and next thing DS knew the guy got back in his car and drove away. Fortunately the police caught up with him several miles from the accident scene. He was drunk way beyond the legal limit and his license has been suspended for DWI twice before. Yet even that didn't stop him from getting behind the wheel yet again and with someone else's car. I'm sure if it was his car he wouldn't have insurance so I'm just hoping his "friend's" insurance is in fact valid. An officer showed up at the house about 2:30 to take a statement from DS so that he can press charges against the guy. The good thing is that DS' truck although damaged I'm sure it might have been a lot worse if he had been driving anything but a truck and fortunately the person coming off of the green light hesitated before he proceeded into the intersection or there probably would have been another car that hit DS. DS was already sore last night so I'm sure it will be worse today. I'm sure his passenger will be hurting today too.
It took a long while to get back to sleep last night after all that and Otto actually woke me up to get out of the bedroom and looking to be fed. I obviously missed my Saturday AM walk and a little too tired to think about it. The dog day challenge is definitely a do over in my book as well. As far as the scale goes, well not much more hair that I can cut off!
DD and her BF are supposed to get an early start to heading down this way. DH, DD and her BF are headed to see Harry Potter this afternoon as DD's belated birthday gift to DH. I've decided to stay home since I haven't seen any of the other ones. While they're gone a nap may be in order! An early morning grocery shopping is probably on the agenda and I'm pretty sure that my hill of laundry has once again returned to a mountain without a dryer most of the week. Here's hoping that it will be drying once more!
That's about it from my neck of the woods. After last night I will welcome same old same old! Hope everyone has a superb Saturday!

Showing off my fancy new Invisaligns!
We had a fantastic evening last night!
Ok, Patty, I am with you...let's have a do over! With having company again, I definitely need to start all over again. Sorry about the water line problem in CL...hope it gets resolved soon. Thank goodness for the cooler dryer weather...it is just beautiful here in Long Island. I am enjoying it to the fullest. Just not enough to go and do some outside work. Going to be a Not So Good Girl Day and do just what I want to do for the rest of it.
I can't believe how I am feeling better and better everyday with being off the Crestor. Sometimes I think I am going to crash and be right back where I was with the fatigue, aches, and tingling.
I was all set to go and take a step class this morning but DH had other plans. We ended up going out for breakfast and did some shopping. Don't know what got into him that he actually wanted to spend time together and not go fishing. Not complaining!
Margie...you are an inspiration. I am going to keep you in mind when I don't feel like keeping on keeping on. I really have to get my act together. Months ago I ordered a month's supply of NutriSystem food and never used it. I am going to try the plan starting Monday. It is just hard even though I hand picked the food with no artificial sweetner and ordered mostly vegetarian or chicken meals. It is really "garbage" food with hardly any fiber and pretty much processed. I can make much better food but it is what it is. One month won't kill me. I hope this whole glycemic index thing works.
SUSAN...thank goodness DS is ok after the accident. What a good presence of mind to write down the license plate of the other driver. Hope you have a nice visit with all and get to take that nap.
J-DEB...you sure piqued my curiosity with what you were celebrating last night, but I am happy for you whatever it is. Glad you had such a nice time.
Tomorrow there will be a houseful here. DinL is coming over with the 4 kids, and both DDs are coming over too with their DHs and granddaughter. Thank goodness it is going to be a nice day and I have new found energy.
Have a good one all...
Grace
Keep on keeping on!
