I'm sitting here on a soft couch and struggling to stay awake for 30 more minutes.

Hey everyone I am home..............not sure glad to be home but we are home. Had a wonderful time this weekend.....where shall I start? Lets see we got to the airport went down the tunnel and discovered we had to get on a bus. This bus then drove us out to the plane which turned out to be a 50 passenger jet. It was pouring rain and we were a bit nervous. Flight was good though but we did leave late and it put us into Florida later then we originally planned. Got there to some really hot, hot weather. I believe it was like 105 or something. Picked up our rent a car and it was a 2007 white mustang convertible. Before I left I made myself directions from mapquest. One was from the airport to the resort and the other was from the resort to Rhonda's house. When I pulled out the directions I just read/saw the Amelia Island part and I started to give Bill the directions.....we drove, got off the exit and realized I drove us to Rhonda's neighborhood. We drove about 45 minutes in the wrong direction. Next time I wear my glasses when reading directions. So..........we turned around and headed back up I95 north. Stopped for a salad at a Shoney's which we discovered was not in the best neighborhood, then continued to the Amelia Island Plantation. For the record I will say that this was probley one of if not the nicest resorts Bill and I have stayed in. First class all the way. We completely enjoyed our room, the ocean view, the beach, the pool, the staff, the grounds, the food............well you get the point. I would recommend this place to each and every one of you ladies! At $200 something a night the place was a gem. On Saturday we had a great breakfast then reserved our chairs and umbrella at the ocean. We relaxed on the beach from 11 until 2 and we got some color. The water must have been in the 90's, and it was just so awesome to swim in. We then headed back up to the pool for a dip to cool off, some cold shrimp, a beer and then a nap. We met up with Rhonda and Tim at a Hess station and Rhonda though we drove my mustang down, lol. We followed them to a wonderful restaurant with great food and awesome atmosphere. We had a great meal and and even better conversation with them. It was so great to finally meet Tim and to see Rhonda. She looks great! We owe them a great big thank you for suggesting the place, meeting us and they picked up the tab, which Bill and I did not want. So now Rhonda and Tim owe us a NY visit for a dinner on us! Sunday we drove the car to St. Augustine and then back. We headed to the quiet pool in the late afternoon and relaxed pool side with a Margarita or two. Followed by some book reading, a nap then a shower for dinner...........life was tuff this weekend, lol. Another yummy dinner at the resort followed by a stroll along the ocean at night. Back to reality quickly today. We extended our check out till noon which gave us time to grab a quick breakfast, down to the beach for a swim and walk. Another dip on the warm pool and back to pack. We turned the rent a car in around 1:45 and had to kill several hours since our flight home was not until 4:45. We walked around the airport some then went to a bar and grabbed a beer and burger for Bill and a salad with grilled chicken and diet coke for me. Our flight home was on another small plane and it was smooth flying. Billy and Katie picked us up at the airport and home we came. Unfortunately it turned ugly quickly since my dear daughter failed to do all her chores which included running the vacuum through the house. Bingo is shedding like crazy and its gross. So Bill got angry at Katie which turned into a crying session, you all know how that goes. I have done two batches of laundry since no one did any over the weekend. Rob though all his wet clothes in the hamper and Billy's work sock reek! Swept the kitchen floor and ran the vacuum upstairs...........back to reality! Work tomorrow for us and I have plans to meet Aunt Linda at 6:30 for our walk. I know I need it and weigh in is tomorrow night.........yikes. Hope all is well with everyone else. I need to catch up on lots of emails and posts. But it is great to be back home. I think we should all go to this place in the spring of next year for a FOF get together!
