I've been MIA off and on lately and some of you may have been wondering why.

Lori,

I am so sorry you are going through this. I am glad you called your doctor. I think you should tell him everything. I think it would be reasonable for you to go to a "safe place" for a few days until the new meds kick in. Your insurance should cover a few days in a hospital. I'm serious, Lori! You need all the love, concern, and one on one attention you can get right now, and professionals are just the ones to help you. Don't try to go through this alone. Let us know how you are doing. We really care.

Big Hugs and Prayers, Lori. I am so sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately, I have 3 immediate family members suffering from depression/anxiety so I am somewhat aware of what you are going through even though it is second hand.

I agree...I am very glad you called your doctor. What you are feeling is way too much to deal with on your own and your doctor will hopefully help you through this. Again, I am sending prayers your way for strength to get through this.

Two of my family members have gone cold turkey off the medicine since they felt it wasn't helping anymore for them also. They were on meds that would cause side effects even if the were late taking a dose. They were told to wean off, but it was "hell". After researching online, they saw that cutting back caused side effects and every time after that they would experience withdrawal when they cut the dose in half. So, they decided to bite the bullet and go through 2 weeks of hell to get off the meds.

You should definitely ask the doctor for a note for leave until you feeling better. I wish I could help you more...it is so painful to watch loved ones suffer from this and my heart goes out to you. All I can do is offer you some hugs and an ear...email or call me anytime if you would like.

Grace

Keep on keeping on!

Do you all think it's reasonable for me to ask for a doctor's note for a break from work until I get my meds settled in?

Lori,

I hope that by the time I post this that you've been able to get in touch with your doctor. The doctor absolutely needs to know what is going on. And yes a note from your doctor or a call from your doctor to your boss since he already knows about the situation to ask for some medical leave is certainly warranted. Dealing with a mental health issue requires the same care as a physical one or probably more so. I've been down this road with my daughter who suffers from depression and anxiety and I've seen first hand how devastating it can be.

I hope and pray that you get this time and a new medication that will help you. Thinking of you and only wish that I could do more for you.

Sending you huge (((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Lori, I really do hope that by this time you have been able to contact your Doctor, he has gotten hold of your boss and you are on medical leave and in a safe place.
