Work was work, not only was the temperature in the office cool but so was the atmosphere! Just trying to be Switzerland at the moment. Needless to say it was pretty quiet in there. It also was a very slow day and very glad that the day was over in more ways than one.
I concocted a pasta with fresh vegetable sauce and threw in some grilled turkey sausage. I love vegetables over pasta. I've been using the whole grain pasta and it really is a lot more satisfying than regular pasta.
DS presented me with a new gadget for my bike. It gives me my speed and distance, time riding and the average speed. I haven't quite figured how it all works but it's very cool!
Otto and I headed out for our walk after dinner and we took the long route again. I have to say with the humidity I'm still surprised that he walks for that length of time but we both enjoy it.
After I got home I decided that I would try out the bike with my new toy on it. I was pedaling around the library when I saw a car making a u-turn by the library. I slowed way down since he didn't really seem to know what he was doing. Next thing I know with cars parked on either side and another car coming in the opposite direction he speeds up and takes the side view mirror right off a parked car and kept going. A guy walking down the street and saw what happened yelled for the guy to stop and fortunately he was able to see and remember the plate # and another woman out walking wrote the plate # on her hand. I was pretty sure that the car belonged to the family that lives across the street from us and his mother and father live right near where the car was parked. I rang the bell to the house but no one answered. I called DH and told him to write the plate # down. I was going to call the local police precinct when I got home but we spotted the neighbor's wife and told her what happened. She called her husband and told him what had happened so that he could call the police department and see if they could track down the guy who hit his car. I told him that he could give my name to them or to the insurance company and I would be glad to tell them what had happened. There's just no way with the force that the mirror came off that this guy didn't know he had hit something. There are some days that I really have problems with the human race.
DD's BF's parents are down in Jamaica and not supposed to leave until Tuesday but at the moment there is a hurricane approaching and they haven't been able to get an early flight home. They've been trying to get a flight to any airport in the US but have been completely unsuccessful. Sure hope everything will turn out OK for them.
Well that's about it for me. I think that's been enough excitement for one day!
Not really sure where to begin since I have been MIA these last few days again. Yesterday was my MIL procedure (read my response to Patty) so that ate up most of our day. Bill and I ran over to her last night to get the low down and all the decisions came today as to what is next. I met Aunt Linda at 6:30 again, that is 3 days in a row. I am doubting I will walk tomorrow since 1) Aunt Linda is taking mom to the city tomorrow for her test and 2) It is already after 11:30 and I am going to have trouble getting up and out the door by 6:30. Anyhow I worked today from 9:30 till 2:30. Work was busy but not crazy so it was not half bad. I drove Katie to MIL's this morning where she stayed with Nana for company. Katie helped her around the house, she made Nana's casserole for dinner and made cookies for her and FIL. Basically kept an eye on her. I picked Katie up after 2:30 where we were going to head out east for Katie to ride Daniel but the skies opened up and it poured and well the lazy part of me made an excuse that its probably raining out there too so why drive out for no reason. Turns out the sky was blue and no rain............oops! Got some home cleaning done and a dinner cooked so that was good. Everyone is home and sound asleep and that is what I plan on doing in a minute. I sure hope everyone had a good day and evening.
Oh my Rob is finally set for school. He has orientation next week and officially starts a week from Monday. He has a full load of credits his first semester, 16 I think. He took his physical yesterday and has to have his TB test check tomorrow and he purchased his books, $405 for the semester, ouch! I feel better knowing this is done for now in our lives. But we always have something going on around here.

Belly might be tricky with the knee (actually my hips would have issues) but I loved it!
Did she get the Posh cut?
