Patty, thanks for asking. I guess I can say she is doing OK but her test did not go well at all. She went in on Wednesday for the angio-plasty (cath w/ attempts of doing a shunt) and unfortunately she is too clogged. While doing the angio they did discover additional blockage that had failed to show with several other type of testing. For about 2 years now she has complained to the doctors about her horrible back and leg pains, how she can not walk far, climb stairs etc.......the doctor discovered that both her legs main arteries are clogged over 90% which explains her trouble. Unfortunately for the last 2 years she has been messing with MRI's, echoes and the latest the pain management treatments of epidural (she has had 5 of those in the last year all of which gave her comfort for about 2 weeks, if that). Well she was told that she needed bypass surgery and they had her set up for an evaluation on Tuesday at LIJ (near Susans house). The doctor said while one doctor preformed the bypass another could preform the

Wow Deb, your MIL has her plate full but I'm sure she is happy to know what the problem is and that treatment will improve the quality of her life.
