The best way to describe my first day-Manic Monday! It started about 9:05 and by 10:05 I was ready to run and keep on running. Where are my winning Lotto numbers? Never really got any work accomplished as there were just too many things going wrong. Heard a lot of Sunshine stories-words can't even describe. My coworker came in with a swollen finger that looked to me like it was probably broken. Somehow a box got dropped on her ring finger and the thing was all swollen and sort of turned at an angle that she couldn't straighten it. She didn't have it looked at since she was afraid they were going to cut her rings off. Certainly not a good situation for someone that types for a living.
Eating went really well today in spite of the very delicious looking cake that was in the office. Lots of stress going on would usually put me with a fork in each hand but I managed to stay away. I even drank all my water today and managed a work out this morning so I'll give myself an A+ for the day.
The ADA handling DS case against the driver who hit him contacted DS and let him know that the guy is apparently still in jail. There will be no plea bargain in the case particularly since this was his 4th offense. I'm sure that whatever sentence he receives it still won't keep him off the road forever it's nice to know that at least for now he's somewhere where he's not a danger to some innocent victim. Now if he could just get the insurance company working on getting his truck fixed. He is a bit obsessed on how his truck looks and this whole thing is certainly not sitting well with him
Still haven't heard from DD. It's so weird not talking to her for a full day. We usually talk at least once a day. Hope there's some resolution to their issues. It sort of worries me that he appears to be having such issues about an engagement how they'll deal with other issues that come along. Guess it's just the never ending worrier Mom.
Otto met up with his friends this evening along with the Cookie Lady. It's just so funny when he spots her. He'll be strolling along and then it's full speed ahead!
Well I want to try to get in touch with my sister. She was supposed to have a meeting at the hospital with the surgeon today to see if they can fill her in on exactly what is going on. I'm glad that her daughter was able to be there with her for the meeting.
Hope everyone has had a good day and enjoying the evening.
Hi everybody. My Monday went fine today considering ...
that this morning, early, I was emptying the dishwasher and I placed a tupperware container on the counter next to the stack of cutting boards I have propped up and I must have touched the boards and set them off because they slid like a huge ruckus ... and slid into a three quarters filled bottle of wine from dinner the night before, which tipped over, the cork popping out ... meanwhile, I zipped over to grab the wine (naturally) and stubbed my toe on the lower kitchen cabinet. A few minutes later I looked to realize that 80 percent of my large toe's toenail had been ripped off! Ouch! I have a bandaid with neosporin on it; the internet says I should change the bandage every day; in a week, the skin will grow over, in six weeks, the nail.
It is throbbing now. I had to wear open sandals today; my business shoes hurt too much. I have a big meeting Wednesday and don't know what I'll do, not to mention whether I'll be able to go to tennis class Wednesday night. I definitely cannot get into normal shoes right now.
Always something, isn't it?
On the good side, I had a good day at work on my new job today, and my DS is home from three weeks with his grandparents, his annual outing, looking and feeling great.
New school year is on the horizon -- 8th grade. Marianne
The problem is mostly that she's looking for a ring as a commitment from him and for whatever reason and in spite of promises to her that he does in fact want to give her that commitment he just hasn't been able to fulfill his promise. They've been dating for 5 years, they're both 28, both with good careers, she's given him the time to live on his own and she feels that it's time for them to either move on or make that commitment to their relationship.
I'm not sure what transpired on Saturday night between them but it wasn't good. She ended up staying the remainder of the weekend with him so maybe they've ironed out the issue or else she's giving him some more time...but I think the clock is ticking.

Today was as close to perfection in my book as a day can go.
Started out with Jazzercise this morning, and I made it through class without any issues.
Came home and showered, did some housework and set off for the Y for noon time yoga.
The instructor was FaNtastic.
Hi, everyone!
