Eric's been at work all day, and I'm in my same lovely awe-inspiring where does she get her wardrobe and sense of style - outfit...(striped pj bottoms and a comfy camisole).
The humidity again was nasty and I opted to turn on the ac and keep the power company very happy with the spinning meter!
Did my grocery shopping and then on to have my nails done. Home for some lunch and then had to get a few things done around here. In fact my last load of laundry is waiting to be twirled away in the dryer and one waiting for me to fold. I had thought about a bike ride but opted for reading instead. Finished the book that I was reading so the search will begin for something new to read.
DD and her BF stopped by and he was able to help DH get the TV upstairs. That TV has seen so much travel between floors for the years that we have had it. DD will have to look into getting a bigger stand to house it before it gets hooked up in her room. The entertainment center is now part of my hallway decor until we can figure out what to do with it. I was originally going to donate it but by the time we get it into the pickup and get it over to the place DH suggested putting it in the basement and throwing out the rather wobbly cabinet that we have down her that houses the TV that I use for my workout DVDs. That's probably a better option. At least I can get my little room back together and then I can put the old videos back in the until DD has a chance to look through them.
As much as I told myself to stay out of the dessert section of cookbooks and magazines I found a recipe in the new Woman's Day that I wanted to try. I tried to talk myself out of it but I didn't. I just really love cooking and baking-probably a little bit too much.
Otto and I headed out for our after dinner walk. It's getting dark so early now and everytime I walk in the house I think it's so much later than it really is. He was delighted to meet up with the Cookie Lady and managed to snag the bag of cookies so that they went flying in every direction. Wasn't he the happy dog grabbing cookies out of the grass and sidewalk. I'm really thinking I need to send him to manners school!
Well better get myself together and finish up the never ending flow of laundry and as much as I don't want to think about it-get myself together for the "w" word for tomorrow.
Hope everyone has had a good day and will enjoy a good night's rest!
Although tomorrow is Monday and that means back to work I am glad it's evening time. Boys are still not home and I quite enjoy it. Katie and I headed out to the outlets around 11:30. We bought her a pair of Uggs. I got to be honest, those things are ugly.....thus the name, maybe??? Her boots are chocolate brown and the high ones, with a zipper. Only $119.00....such a bargin, lol. From there we headed back to the horse and Katie had an excellent ride on him. Unfortunately we were there longer then I would have hoped and it did not put us back into town until 5:00. Grabbed some chicken cutlets, dropped them home and then ran over to see inlaws for 30 minutes. We broiled the chicken, warmed up some left over corn and sliced a juicy red tomatoes topped with some light sour cream. Dinner for two! While flicking through the TV channels we caught the beginning of the movie, "The Lake House" with Sandra Bullock and Kiana Reive (spelt wrong, sorry), anyway I enjoyed it, it was very romantic and Katie thought it was boring. Oh well. Last night was Sense and Sensibility and Friday night was Pride and Prejudice....such a romantic fool I am! I think some quick dishes to be washed and then some PJ time. Not sure what kind of traffic the boys are hitting and no idea what time to expect them home. Best I be under the covers when they do get in or else they find something they need or want mom to do. The darn cat/kitten is still around but I have taken to spraying her with a water bottle, I just hope she gets the idea soon. Hope you all had a great day today and that work is just as nice.
Rob and I went to his friend's bbq last night. It was so nice. They had professional banners made for the front and back yards welcoming home Pvt., with his
Thanks, Nancy! I think milestones and holidays tend to make us think more about the way things are and the way they used to be or the way we'd like them to be. This too, shall pass. :-)
