Good morning, Princess.

Good Morning,
It is a gray and oppressively humid day here on LI. It looks like tomorrow will be much like today and then hopefully some cooler, drier air headed our way.
I had a great full hour workout this morning. I was able to keep at it a bit longer this morning since DH had showered last night so I was able to get my shower a bit later than usual. Eating has been off a bit over the weekend but I'll be back to writing things down and keeping things a bit more in perspective this week. Hopefully that attitude will stay fresh all week.
Well at least I now know what they're looking for secretarial wise at work. I found the ad in our local newspaper. Nothing like having to read the ad to find out the big dark secret. DD is pestering me to take the Civil Service test either here or the NYC and try to get a job in one of the schools. I attempted to take the test years ago when a job was offered to me at a local college in the nursing department. My friend teaches nursing there and the person doing the hiring really wanted me. I went for the interview and although it intrigued me it was a distance from home and my kids were still fairly young, then the job was offered again and the kids were older but I had to take the Civil Service test which wasn't an issue. I signed up, left in plenty of time but got stuck in a huge amount of traffic and by the time I got there with minutes to spare there wasn't a place to be found to park. It was one of those things that I just felt wasn't meant to be. Now I'm in my 50's and wonder what I would get myself into trying to start over again. It would definitely be a big step out of my comfort zone and I'll admit the thought terrifies me. My lack of self confidence is definitely a huge issue and one I've struggled with for most of my life.
Anyway enough introspection this morning. It is off to the land of the paying job this morning. Sunshine's final week and can't believe I'm saying that! It should be a fairly light week as my boss is taking Thursday and Friday off and with the Jewish holiday at the end of the week the courts will be pretty much closed as well as a lot of law offices.
Dinner is planned out with sloppy joes (made with turkey)and some stovetop Cooking Light mac & cheese. DD is a mac & cheese fiend and a big salad to go along with it.
I'm also back to chasing the doctor's office to see if I can get a final answer as to whether there is anything more that I need to do. A simple call from the nurse saying that she doesn't want me to worry at this point would be nice. I also told DS I would make a phone call to the adjuster for him since his availability to make phone calls is limited. He actually got a check from them (the wrong amount) made payable to him and the finance company. Don't know what he's supposed to do with that! What a wacky bunch of people!
Providing there are no major downpours after dinner Otto and I will head out for our walk. I always get a brisk walk in for the first part of the walk because of the search for cookies and then a much slower pace to make up for all the trees he missed on the way down to the park.
Rhonda-don't ever dismiss your problems as insignificant. A friend of mine and I had this discussion not to long ago. There are always going to be people that do have worse things going on but the fact of the matter is that we all have issues going on that are important and significant in our own lives and sometimes accepting them and dealing with them is very hard. Your issues are certainly not insignificant and you've had a lot of deal with and are continuing to deal with them. Sending you an extra hug!
Lori-how are you doing?
Karen-I was glad to see your post! Love having you around as often as you can be! That woman was downright rude. Can't imagine having someone walk into a home and giving it the once over. Some people are just so strange not to mention rude!
To everyone I wish you a good start to the week!
Susan
Eric ended up having to work until about 8pm last night---10 hours with no lunch (I would've fainted).
Hi all..

Hi all!
"I have pretty much kissed the idea of losing weight good bye. I've been fighting this 10 pound weight gain for awhile now and I think it's time to focus on toning, improved fitness habits and overall good health. At least I've now lost the weight of the frustration I've felt....."
Patty...your post today touched me on so many levels. I believe you have the right attitude of concentrating on overall good health and fitness. IT is the right attitude. I want to lose the weight of the frustration too! Let's do it and concentrate on the best things for us.
Now the duct tape...what would any house be without it? I know there are a few things around here put together with duct tape. I know it is a good fix for uplifting the "girls" LOL! We do need some WD 40 for the squeaky doors!
Started the week off with my first personal challenge by taking an "empowered" class. It was neat! Oh, my Monday step interval class was moved to Friday so I know I will be working out every weekday this week. Oh I just realized I did exercise Saturday...I taught an hour Pilates class. How could I have forgotten? Just goes to prove I have to write everything down.
Not much else doing around here. Just making some pasta e fagiole for dinner and recharging my batteries.
Have a super week all and hope you have a good start too...

Brrrrrrrr, Nancy...sounds so early to have such cold weather morning! I actually had to put the AC on again for a couple of days.
Good luck with the weigh in. I know you did a lot better than I did the past week.

WTG with the hour of exercise this morning, Susan! Sunshine is really leaving this time? Boy I missed a lot last week. I hope things get better at work after she is gone. You are never too old to take the civil service test but I think you have to start at the bottom and I don't think entry level pays all that much. I could be wrong, but that it how it used to be. The benefits are the best though.
Don't forget to give yourself points for walk/running with otto tonight.
