I ended up playing hookey. I did pretty much shopped until I dropped. I shouldn't have been spending the money but I did find a few things. I'm terrible when I shop by myself since I really have no clue What to Wear and What Not to Wear-where are Stacy and Clinton when you need them? Or a daughter or two? I did end up with a pair of charcoal gray knit pants that I'm a little unsure about. Of course I'm looking at the muffin top and the bulges here and there but I paired them up with a red shawl collared sweater that has the wrapped look with a cami underneath and I also purchased a brown top that has an empire waist with 3/4 length sleeves. I tried to find myself a pair of jeans and we'll just say that that whole experience didn't go well! On my way out of the mall I stopped in Easy Spirit and I think I may have found a pair of sneakers that offer the cushioning in the heel and arch that I seem to need. The Nikes I bought I'm not really happy with so I'm going to try these. My sister had suggested I try them since she seems to have the same problem I do in the support. I also found a cute pair of black flats that just have a very slight wedge and are so soft and cushiony on the inside. I came home for some lunch and really did have intentions on getting into trying to straighten up but it didn't last long as I was back out the door. I ran over to Lord & Taylor to look at the sale racks since I had a coupon but there wasn't anything there which was probably a really good thing. I also ran into Sears but didn't find anything in there either. Also ran into Talbots since they were having a 40 to 70% sale. Way too much merchandise and way too many people so out the door I went and back home. By the time I got home I ended up doing some laundry but that was about it.
I guess I wore myself out since I was asleep in the chair by 9 until 11. I figured I would never sleep but the exception to having to let Otto out about 12:30 and hearing DS come in at some point I slept until almost 7 this morning! I guess all that shopping exhausted me!
Nancy, it sounds like a really interesting book.
After driving 188 miles one way with the state bragging rights on the line, we are finally back home.

Congratulations to DS and to the team and of course the proud parents!
