I had a good and interesting (to me) weekend. And, HOW 'BOUT THOSE GATORS???!!!

I went to see Dad Friday morning, because I didn't know if anyone else was going to make it. Turned out, Mom had called my favorite uncle, and he was there. We can always count on him. We had a nice visit while Dad was in PT, then we joined him and watched him bat a balloon back to one of the therapists as though he was playing volleyball, while holding onto his walker with one hand. Then, another PT held his security belt slightly while Dad let go and caught a bigger ball and threw it back -- looked like a basketball chest pass -- ever the athlete. :-) We continued our visit after we took him back to his room, so it was a good one for all of us.

I had already packed for the beach and drove straight there. It took about 40 minutes from the nursing home where Dad is, which isn't bad. Joe, Erin, and Jackson, and Joe's dad, step-mom, and one brother were there. The younger brother got there later.

We put on our swimsuits and went to the pool. I was bold/foolish enough to wear my new red suit for the first time and got compliments on it. Of course, no one is going to say you look awful in that, but I think they did like it. I jumped up and down in the water with Jackson, played Ring-a-round the Rosies, got him to float on his back in my arms, and just had a fantastic time with him. He is a water baby! So help me, he looks more like he's going to be two instead of one, and he is SO good! I know I'm partial, but he really is.

We got cleaned up and had dinner at Columbia Restaurant in the historic district. It is one of our favorites.

I missed why you're working 4 days instead of 3 now. I hope it won't take long to make the adjustment and it goes well for you.
