Rhonda, please tell Erin to be very careful checking labels for "may contain peanuts" and to wait longer than 18 months if she can.

Thanks for the TV info! I did see a Polaroid model when Rob and I were looking and was surprised, because I didn't know they did TV's.

Snapdragons and pansies will live through freezes here and 19 years ago even survived a rare ice storm. My gardens are all so freeform that it would be really hard to measure them. I have some things like the shrubs farther away from the pool and the whole butterfly garden that are very natural, untrimmed, but I have a lot of boxwood and hollys that require trimming to keep a more formal shape. I like the mix of trimmed and natural. The trimmed ones are because I love the formal gardens of Colonial Williamsburg, The natural ones are because I also love the English cottage gardens. :-) We don't get enough cold weather for spring bulbs to do well here. I miss them, because they are so beautiful. When we did our FOF trip to DC in early April of 2006, there were bulbs flowering everywhere! We have to chill them in the refrigerator, then dig them up and start over the next year. Too much work for me!!

Holy cow! That sounds really scary! The dr. told her a lot more peanut allergies are showing up, so that's why they recommend waiting that long to try them on peanuts. I've heard of people having reactions to food that has been cooked on surfaces where something with peanut oil had been cooked, but wiped off. Seems to be an extremely sensitive type of allergy. I will definitely pass that info on to Erin.

We were told to wait to 18 months also ... you have to be really careful about cross contamination.

Really appreciate the heads-up. I forwarded it to Erin.

Can't believe it's that cold already. We're still getting in the 90's in the afternoon. I think we're in the 70's at night, but I haven't checked lately.

And now to confuse you even more, new research is saying that all the allergies that are happening now are because people are waiting too long to introduce food to the kids. There were less allergies when we started giving the kids cereal at 2 weeks and food at a month. Our kids generation had a lot less allergies than the kids today and part of that is because of overuse of antibiotics. That is what my DD is up against now...another change.

Looks like I already took you up on taking time for me today, Patty. I decided to be lazy this morning and stay in bed a while longer before getting the day started. I needed to recharge my batteries after the weekend. It was full with celebrating DH's birthday and going apple/pumpkin picking yesterday out East and way too much fresh air.

Before going to the podiatrist, I started the laundry and redyed a pair of black linen pants. They were so faded and I loved the way they fit and the weight of them and now they look brand new again. I wonder how long they will stay dark black.

Ends up that the only way my foot will feel better is more surgery, but I am not ready for that nor is the podiatrist. She is going to look into things but as long as I can do what I am doing, I am not going there now. When I slow down, I will consider it. She did say I can come and have the seed callous shaved down any time...just come in. She is so good with stuff like that.

I wish I could get that gardening bug. I just don't have it in me. I never liked gardening and it just feels like too much work. I think I got ruined as a kid when one of my chores was weeding the flowerbeds. I figured if my mom wanted flower beds, she should be out here doing it. But that is another story. She was a good mom, don't get me wrong, but she was a perfectionist and everything had to be perfect and a lot of it fell on me. Now you know why I am not Mrs Housekeeper.

I guess I should get things done around here before DD and granddaughters come over. Maybe I shouldn't since granddaughter is like a tornado going through the house. Another reason I don't have house beautiful...I want my grandkids to feel comfortable here and not that they are visiting grandma's museum.

Have a great week all...

Vanessa...don't worry about that scale...with all you do, it has to move in the right direction.
