I've spent so long trying to catch up on reading and responding to everyone's posts that it's about time for check-ins. How has everyone's day gone?

We had another gorgeous day here, but I heard it's supposed to be going into the low 50's by morning. I'm not ready for that!! I think the high will be only 78. Rob and his female friend are planning to go swimming tonight. The pool heater is on to keep the water warm.

He and I went to the luncheon meeting today and really enjoyed it. The man giving the talk is a Capt. in the JAG Corps (Navy) and was made commander under the admiral at Guantanamo Bay Detention Center. The photos of the facilities and the money being

You had me with the cookies until you said licorice -- not a licorice fan. Of course, I could scrape the icing off...

Oh, my! Just checked out the new ad campaign for Tommy Boy! I like that it's classy. He kept his clothes on and still looks hot. Which photo did you vote for? I like the one of him lying down alone in the grass. Also, liked the one where he's kicking high and just looks athletic. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Eric would LOVE to go to that luncheon with Ken Burns as a speaker.

Another exhausting day at work...seems like I've been saying that every day. My coworker was out. Her cat was very sick and she was taking her to the vet. The next time I spoke to her she was on her way in and then apparently she had called again and the kitty had taken a turn for the worse. I didn't hear from her for the rest of the day and I have a feeling that wasn't a good thing. My boss is in trial mode and that basically means that he is focused on only one thing and I have to try keep other things calm that get put on the back burner. Not always an easy thing to do.

Torrential rain started here late afternoon and we had a tornado watch in effect until 5PM. By the time I left the office at 5 I had to take off my shoes and wade my way through the parking lot to my car. Wove my way home through flooded side streets and streets that were closed. My car sits very low to the ground so I had to make sure that the water wasn't too deep before trying to go through. Traffic was backed up all over the streets and wasn't sure whether I would make my hair appointment. Again I had to wind my way around and was glad to be able to get there. I was feeling so shaggy and feels so good to have it done.

DH stopped by Sears to take a look at the dryers. Someone at work had a suggestion of what may be wrong with the dryer so I'm still not sure what we're going to do. A decision will have to be made by tomorrow so I either have a fixed dryer by the weekend or a new one. Since this is the second repair in that many months we're both thinking a new one may be in order.

I'm tired and more than ready to head to bed. Hope everyone has a good night's rest!
