Pretty fall day outside although a bit nippy on my bare feet to pull in the papers this morning.
Less than stellar day around here yesterday. Ended up in an argument with Directv after the service guy showed up and told me that the satellite dish attached to my roof for my son's TV is the wrong one and of course he can't correct the problems because it's not on his work order. I asked how service people seeing what was on the work order knowingly put something else up there. He really didn't have an answer other than they probably didn't know what they were doing. Good answer! Back to square one whether I place a new work order and have them take down everything that's up there and drill 8 new holes into my roof and hope that they can do that right or opt for TV/internet/phone service through my telephone company. More for my money and actually save me a few $. DH leaves the decision to me and then comments how he doesn't want new holes in our roof and doesn't want holes drilled into the house. So exactly how am I suppose to make a decision based on that. He asked me to speak to my neighbor about he liked the service through the telephone company and when I called him over to speak to him about the installation DH's answer was that he's going to throw everything out and not have anything. Intelligent answer. So now I'm left to make a decision that DH is going to grumble about either way. He does this to me everytime and whatever decision I make it's going to be the wrong one and made into a huge production. I'm tired of the decision making and getting the grumbles and complaints afterwards. My brain is getting too old and tired for this.
Enough of my ranting and raving. It's a beautiful day although the majority of it will be spent doing things that I didn't get to after all the nonsense of yesterday. Grocery shopping, waiting for the dryer to be delivered which won't be until sometimes between 12:45 and 2:45 and then DH will have to do the installation since it's something called a "hot wire". Maybe sometime this evening I'll have a dryer again. Huge mountains have formed and my neighbor has offered the service of their dryer but I'm trying to hold off.
DD called from CA. She's enjoying the trip although some of the little old ladies from Pasadena were a bit "difficult" as she put it. She went to a Brazilian BBQ for dinner one night and really enjoyed that. She's headed home tomorrow AM and will be back on this side of the US about 5PM.
CL-Deb-glad to hear from you. Sounds like you and Aunt Linda are doing a great job on the walking. Good luck to Robbie with his racing today!
Sassy-hope you were able to get some sleep. Know that feeling all too well and it's not a good one.
Donna-great shopping trip! Love the sound of all your purchases!
Nancy-great job on that walk!
Rhonda-hope that poor little kid Jackson enjoys this care package from Grandma! Hope things between you and Tim continue to improve.
I think I'm going to head to Deb/MN's house to join her for an emergency supply of wine and chocolate!
Patty-sorry to hear about the break in the headache free days. Hope you're feeing better.
Better get my rapidly expanding b*** up and moving to the shower and then to my planned destinations including a nail appointment and my tasks for the day (which there was an under the breath comment about that too). May have to go find my shovel again-although he did clean the bathroom yesterday-not sure that will keep him safe for too long!
I love my nail appointment. One of the only places that I can go to and sit in quiet, not have to converse if I don't want to and just have something special just for me time.
What book are you reading? Always looking for a good new read, although I don't take as much time to read as I should lately.
So sorry to hear that you got the headaches back Patty. You were on such a good run too. I think you got plenty of a workout at GH yesterday...glad you had nice customers.
I think I will have to get on the band wagon and get a mani/pedi. We have a wedding at the end of the month so I think I will treat myself to it right before. Since I am wearing clothes I already have (I only had to buy a citi knits sparkle top from QVC), I can splurge.
Nothing strength wise going on here unless you want to count the "strong" disagreement I had with DH a little while ago. He planted rose bushes right in the middle of the back yard where the kids play when they come and I specifically said I did not want
I think I was a born worrier! College decisions are hard. My oldest knew exactly where she wanted to go. I had to encourage her to apply other places. My younger DD knew she wanted to go an art school and there was only one state school that had any kind of solid program for the arts and she absolutely hated the school when we went to visit it. All the art schools had one tuition-EXPENSIVE! We did what we could to help her out but she had to take out her own loans plus her Federal loans to finance her degree.
We had the opposite problem with DS. He didn't want to go to college nor was he really college material. To try to get anyone at the HS to get us any information on any type of vocational programs was a nightmare. There's such an emphasis on everyone going to college and we got a strange blank stare when we talked about anything else. They were of no use to us at all. The trades are definitely not a thing to be discussed apparently. A very sore point with me and the high school!
Hopefully your DS will find a good fit. It is a trying time and I wish you good luck with the search!

Good morning.. Raining again here.
Deb/MN
What a day you had. I guess the powers that be feel if you are not aggravated at work, you should be at home. Good grief...hope it gets fixed up.
We have the cable package with the HD TV, Internet and phone for $126 a month.
Keep on keeping on!
