I'm not savoring FL's loss to GA. Quite frankly, they didn't deserve to win. I'm so po'd at their coach, really think he's out of his league literally and figuratively. He let Tim Tebow get banged up game after game after game, and I said all along that he'd get hurt and not be able to play 100% in the big games when they really need him. Sure enough, he got a severely bruised shoulder last week and couldn't play nearly the way he usually does today. Can't believe a coach would allow that to happen to any player, much less such a stellar one. Even Superman can do only so much. We had the team to win if they'd been healthy, but we were definitely out-coached. There were some good aerial shots of Jacksonville despite the overcast weather. You could see how many thousands of fans were tailgating and watching outside the stadium.
Tim came over to watch the game with me. We have a 50" screen in the great room that's seldom used, and I prefer to lie down on the sofa when the weather is bad and when we lose. He brought some frozen pizzas over, so I made one of those. We were both too full and too tired to go to dinner and a movie. Went to Panera to get something to drink, which really hit the spot. I've taken cold medicine and feel so dehydrated. He went ahead back to go to bed and try to get more sleep. I need to wash my hair and have a good soak. Looked up that cologne I got a sample of in Orlando and have fallen in love with, and it's $185. for 3.3 oz.!!! That's a bit more than I anticipated even though I knew it would probably be pretty much. Glad I got 2 samples. I've been using it like it's water though, so guess I should cut back.
Erin called today. She had been helping spread 5 dump truck loads of sand
It poured here for most of the day. The sun managed to come out late this afternoon which allowed Otto and I to get out for a walk. We haven't been out since Tuesday and we both needed it.
I did my run to Costco and picked up my first Christmas gift. I saw a cute Disney sticker book for one of the grandnephews that I thought he would enjoy. It was pouring when I got home so I just unloaded the perishables and then headed off for my eye exam. I thought my distance vision was the problem in my glasses but it's actually my reading vision that has gotten worse. My problem with my distance vision has something to do with something which he explained in "eye" language that I really didn't understand but I think it has something to do with the eye itself-sounds like another "age" thing! Anyway, figured I really had to get new glasses since using my old frames would involve me leaving the glasses there to have the new lenses put it in which isn't an option for me since I need them all the time. My lenses have to be special ordered because of my astigmatism so I won't be getting them for a few days. Our vision insurance only pays $40 towards frames and won't pay for the progressive lenses that I use so the total is always "sticker" shock for me. I did treat myself to a pair of prescription sunglasses. I've always used the clip on ones and I always manage to mangle them enough that they don't fit on the glasses anymore. They offered a $100 off coupon if you bought a 2nd pair of glasses or sunglasses and I'm only having them put in the distance prescription of the lenses for driving.
Nothing much got done in the house today. I did manage to shred up some papers and clean up my desk area. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Verizon to switch over my TV and internet service. Got the package together but couldn't finish placing the order to get a confirmation number and scheduled time for installation because their system went down. Hope that's not a sign that I've made the wrong decision.
Rhonda-really glad to hear that you and Tim are on a positive course. Sure hope Riley shows up soon.
Time to head to bed. I think tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
