Evening Everyone,

The sun is setting so I thought I'd start our evening thread.

It's been a quiet day here.

It's been a pleasant day here. Early grocery shopping and then off to the nail salon for hand pampering and decided to have my eyebrows done as well. I try to keep up with them myself but every once in awhile I like to really have them done.

Came home and had some lunch and read for awhile with a nice cup of coffee and then tackled some of the household chores. Lots of laundry whirled and twirled and down to putting some towels away and my own laundry. Everyone else's sits in their baskets. Drives me a bit nuts but if they prefer living out of laundry baskets in the basement that's their business. Did a once over on the floors to get the dog hair vaccumed up. Still vaccuming around the debris in the living room although the giant box has disappeared but the seat is now sitting there along with a cardboard box of car junk. I tactfully suggested this morning that anyone could make this stuff disappear but seems like there's a hearing problem around here. DH has had a headache all day and he kept himself busy watching football.

The sun disappeared by early afternoon and the afternoon was rather damp. Otto was very excited to get outside and go for a walk. He made me run the first two blocks which was fine-it's just those sudden stops when he sees a tree that he would like to visit. He stops and I have to come to a screeching halt or go flying on my face!

I made an interesting new dinner with whole grain pasta, chicken and broccolini (a new found favorite vegetable) with some garlic and olive oil. I love quick and easy recipes that taste so good.

Rhonda-I'm so glad Riley showed up and so happy to hear about your great weekend!

Nancy-sounds like you had a nice weekend with your guests. Enjoy your pizza night out.

Margie-forgot to mention that I absolutely loved the kitchen pictures. You know how much I drool when I see a beautiful kitchen! Kitchen space is something that I so miss and something that's just never going to happen in this house. Hope the head feels better. DH had one of those headaches today too.

I think I'll join with the rest of you ladies in working towards a shrinking of the mid section!

Well my kitchen is all cleaned up, coffee pot ready for the AM and I'm going to get my laundry baskets emptied out.

Hope you all enjoy a great evening and a good night's rest.

Susan

Wow, what a busy and productive weekend you had! I know your mother has to be loving all you got accomplished for her. Could I hire you to come help me get organized???

Congratulations to the Pats! Gators won big time yesterday, which made me very happy. Wish Alabama had beaten LSU, but they did almost the exact thing the Gators did with them -- led up till the end and then LSU came from behind right at the end to win. Rats!

I saw in the Olympic Marathon qualifications yesterday a 28 yr. old elite runner suddenly dropped and died about 5 1/2 miles in. I read more and found out he'd won the River Run here in 2005. How sad to have that happen at such a young age. He had a history of an enlarged heart. A bright spot was that the woman who won is a new mother. Just shows what you can do if you really try.
