Good Morning,

It's gray and dreary looking out there this morning but I'm feeling sunny. I took a vacation day today and looking at the calendar I'm only working 2 full 5 day weeks between now and the end of the year! Love those saved up vacation days!

I wanted to make sure that I got a workout in today even though I'm off and making sure I was energized for DD and I to begin our shopping adventure. A quick paced 15 minutes on the treadmill and then I devoted this morning to weights.

I loved your post this morning and often times it's my fear of failure that holds me back. And when I do fail it usually is not viewed as a learning experience but rather a view of my failure. Good words to put your failures in a better perspective. Even with the coming of the holiday season I'm really going to put my best effort forward to do the things I enjoy, cut out the things that stress me out and really enjoy the season. I think having my DD keeping me line, a few extra days off and having some of the "Fat Guy" around may actually help me succeed.

We're off to Target and then Ikea. We get out glass jars there and then decorate them and fill them with homemade cookies. Macy's is having a sale so we also will head there and probably a stop at Michaels for some ribbon for our jar decorating project. I'm also going to pick up some cards.

Chicken teriyaki burgers are on the menu for this evening. Nice and easy after dashing here and there. If the weather cooperates also a walk with Otto.

Well time to get my hair dried and a few things taken care of around here and we're off!

Hope everyone has a successful start to their day and week!

We must be at the same place in our weight loss plan, Patty.

Is there any way you can set a default size font here on iv?

Arggh---I'm trying so hard to resist temptation... DH brought me 2 glazed donuts this morning as a thank you. He brought them as a gift, so I took them. Sigh - my biggest weaknesses are pastry and wine.

I'm eating some Tuscan tomato and shells soup instead of the donuts. I think I'll have one donut as dessert with my lunch. I'll give the 2nd one to my office mate. You see I don't want to go through life never eating sweets again; I just need to be smart about it. I didn't have time for a full-blown workout this morning because DH took the car in (the alternator went after we spent 3 hours at Midas for another problem that they tried to but could not fix) so I spent time packing lunches for both of us. I did some squats and dead lifts before getting dressed for work. I felt them walking in, too!

So, if I eat this donut, I will definitely add a longer cardio workout today, not as penance but for peace of mind.

There will always be temptation - it's up to me to deal with them.

Gotta run - work calls unfortunately :).

Excellent thoughts this morning, Patty. I am such a victim of fear of failure, and I'm really tired of it. I know I'm the only one who can change that. I've read about how the hugely successful people in this world have failed so many, many times in their quests for success. They didn't let failures stop them. I need to acquire that trait. Like you, I haven't tried my best at weight loss and fitness either. It's always been very sporadic since I've needed to work at it. Back when eating right and being active came naturally,

I almost always click on Font Size 4 when I reply. I figure if it's a good size for me it will probably be pretty good for others who rely on reading glasses. ;-) I don't know of any way to set a default. For almost a year now, I haven't been able to use the custom fonts or colors. Have emailed iVillage about it, but haven't ever gotten a fix for it. I already do what they said to do, and it doesn't work.

I agree about not wearing really low cut dresses beyond a certain age. I'm not a real fan of super low cut anyway, but if the person is young and tiny it looks much better. I think I've told about a biker chick I saw years ago who'd had some kind of face tattooed on her chest. I knew it was time for her to cover it up when it had turned into a frown!!! LOL!

So sorry to hear your night out with Eric wasn't the best. Sounds an awful lot like a typical one for Tim and me for many years. Let's hope it was an anomoly. At least you got a nice spa pkg. from it!
