Good morning everyone.Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.Deb/mn, thinking of Trevor and wishing him luck with the hearing aids.

I'm reading a book a man wrote on what running has taught him about life.He writes about how when he first began running there were 60 min races. You would run as fast as you could for 60 mins and whoever covered the most distance in that time

Good Morning,

Good thoughts this morning Miss P. Thank you once more for giving me food for thought for the day.

A dreary gray morning here on LI. It is the morning of the 5K here in our village. It's annual fundraiser for various community organizations. They do a runners only run and then a fun walk although there are some very serious walkers also involved. It's always nice when they have nice weather, but at least it's not raining. DH volunteers and will be standing on one of the corners holding up his very bright orange route marker!

The turkey will be coming out of the freezer today and this year I will remember to put a pan underneath it. I seemed to have forgotten that last year and ended up cleaning out the refrigerator last year when the turkey unthawed all over the inside of my refrigerator! What a mess. It's also out the door to get to the grocery store and pick up what I'll be needing. I tried to get a good list together yesterday although my brain didn't seem to be functioning too well. I probably should go back over my checkbook entries before the checks go in the mail-nothing I can do about the online entries.

I roasted my peppers yesterday and I'll be cooking up pumpkin for pumpkin pies. I have to make sure there's one in the oven for my next door neighbor. He loves pumpkin pie and he's Otto's godfather (as we call him) and our next door neighbor chiropractor. He's always there to crack our bones when necessary!

Rhonda-I was so sorry to hear about your Dad's sister. Hope Tim's move in went smoothly. Sending you both good thoughts and prayers for both of you.

Li-Deb-I realized that my brain being like a sieve these days that I never expressed how sorry I was to read about Bingo. Good for you keeping up with your walks with Aunt Linda. It's great that you have someone to walk with you!

Deb/MN-hope everything goes well with Trevor's hearing aides.

Patty-your little tree sounds so cute. I'll soon be pulling out my little fiber optic tree that my coworker gave me. I just love that little tree. You came home with the tree but did you come home with the duct tape?

Well better get at it for the day. I know have about 4 books that I want to read so hope to get some reading time in today. I'm sure Otto would also appreciate a nice long walk today so hoping that rain will stay away so we can get that in.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Yes my boss called me yesterday but I did not return the call. Actually he called back but it had nothing to do with the office. He had a question for Bill and a car he wants to buy for his daughter and he wanted to know if Bill would check it out this week. I was so busy yesterday I never had time to check in. I was a cleaning fool. Did anyone watch Oprah on Thursday and Friday about the horders? I often worry about the clutter and my parents house could easily but classified at that and I so do not want that to happen here so................I cleaned out drawer. I reorganized the drawers in the desk, dinning room buffet/hutch and my kitchen. Then I ran to the store and bought the makings of a roast beef dinner and all the fizings. We invited (last minute) our friends to have dinner with us. So I made some shrimp cocktails and a cheese platter (where is Karen when you need her), set the dinning room table, vacuums, bathrooms..............well you get the pictures. It was a great night with their kids and mine. All nine of us gathered around our dinning room table. They stayed until almost 1:30 in the morning. Man I had a head ache this morning...............too many Malibu Baybreezes.

Got up around 9:45 and had a quiet cup of coffee/tea with Bill. Justing waiting for my turn in the shower which is next. Bill and I are driving Katie to the ice skating rink around one...........well might be driving to the rink while I finish up. Then Bill and I are going to head out to the east end of Long Island to get some fresh vegtables for the Thanksgiving dinner. I think I will make my husband take me out to a nice lunch since its going to be just the two of us. Katie's friends parents will pick the girls up and go back to her house for a few hours. My house is still clean and I will throw yet another batch of laundry into the washer once we finish our showers. That is about it, our weather is not looking too nice but we do have some pretty colors on our trees still. Hope you all have a wonderful day today!

Well, we have a Thanksgiving luncheon at work tomorrow, so after going to church and singing in choir, then taking DD to work, we bought supplies. DH is making shoo-fly pie, and I'm making macaroni and cheese. I don't get to make mac-n-cheese much because DH hates cheese, so I'm using this opportunity!

Right now, we have all our ingredients assembled; DH is making the pie crusts, and I'm online while waiting for that prep to be done, so I can start the cheese sauce.

Once that's done, I'm probably going to vacuum the bedroom and lay down for awhile; we ran errands for much of the day yesterday and have been pretty busy today, too. I need some rest. If I get the motivation, I might take a walk - it's cold (in the 30s) but the sun is very bright.
