Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We have so much to be thankful for, especially if you compare us to people in many other countries around the world. This is a blessed nation even with all its flaws.
Tim is scrubbing the kitchen and breakfast room floors for me. Hallelujah! Those are the biggest things in need of cleaning, because all the animals have access to that area of the house. They will be
Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving ladies........it is a weird feeling around here today. I got to sleep in until 8:30 and had not one but two cups of tea. No turkey smell........no dinning room table set......this is good right? It just feels weird. Katie spent last night at my inlaws helping MIL make the stuffing. So last night was a quiet night for me. I was home alone until close to nine, I should have gone shoping but instead I plopped onto the couch and watched TV for hours. This morning I watched the paraade, what a beautiful morning here. Looks like we got a mild day today but chills are setting in tomorrow. Heading to my inlaws around 2:00 so I have my cauliflower cooking and I will put together the apple crisp after that. The washer and dryer are going and I believe the boys have "stuff" to do before heading to Nanna's and Papa's place. Hope you enjoy your families and your day!!
This is my first Thanksgiving with this group. It's funny; sometimes during my day I'll think of one or more of you and wonder what you're up to. I'm still learning to put stories with names and learning about you all.
Yesterday afternoon a good friend called out of the blue. He was driving from Philadelphia to Toronto to pick up his mom. During the conversation, we decided he should crash at our house rather than make the whole trip after a full working day. He got here last night around 10, and we visited until 1am :). He took us out to breakfast this morning, and then headed out. It was so wonderful to see him. It makes me very happy that DH and I decided to stay home this year!
Patty - Lovely message!
Kathy - Plymouth Plantation sounds like fun.
Zumba-Deb; nice picture. It's just the 2 of us this year, and it is so relaxing!
Rhonda - glad you have a cleaning/prep partner. It's wonderful, and that Biscotti sounds great!
Karen - you're right - this is a special group of ladies
Nancy - getting in that workout - good for you!
Debbie - nothing wrong with plopping on the couch watching t.v. and having some quiet time.
Donna - I hope you can make your trip!
Cussette - yes, we all do have much for which to be thankful.
Well, DH put the ham in the oven (we're not doing turkey) and is upstairs practicing his flute, I'm here saying 'hi' and watching Cold Case Files reruns LOL. In about an hour, it will be time to start the Pineapple pudding, Brussels sprouts, and candied sweet potatoes.
Hopefully, we will get out for a walk today.
