Step right up to get your gold stars!! Here's the place to tell how you made the world a little nicer place for yourself, a friend or family member, or even a stranger.

1. Worked really hard to make Thanksgiving as perfect as it could possibly be. Everyone had a good time.
2. I spent extra time with Dad and got him more DVD's to entertain him and put up a Christmas tree in his room for him and his roommate to enjoy.
3. I fed the pumpkin biscuits to the ducks instead of my dinner guests. Acccck!
4. I gave $5. to a homeless man standing by the road today. Normally, after the experiences I've had with people like that, I'd have ignored him. But suddenly a sermon our pastor preached about 6 months ago came flooding into my mind about how it's not up to us to judge what they're going to do with the money. They may genuinely need it. This guy had on a hat like a vet, so I waved to him and he ran to get it. He was so appreciative. I noticed several other people did it after I did. Don't know what he'll do with it, but I didn't pass judgement and it just may make the difference in having something to eat or not.
5. I try to smile, compliment, and thank the nursing home staff as much as possible to try to make an incredibly difficult and depressing job a little more cheerful, and I include Dad's roommate in our activities whenever possible, because he never has visitors.
6. I spoke about my aunt at her funeral even though it was very difficult, and it made her family and her pastor feel very good, so it was well worth my discomfort.

Good Morning,
Nancy is at 1 degree and we're back at spring like temperatures here on LI. I thought it was going to be a nice day but the sky has turned this eerie looking blue gray color that looks anything but nice.
I'll give myself a toot for staying consistent with my exercise through the past week. I put together a Thanksgiving Day that I think everyone enjoyed. Tooting for my first born whose 28th birthday is today. Hard to believe that she's 28! She's my baby that I thought was going to be born outside the hospital doors! 12 minutes after I got there-there she was! I work hard to keep my patience with clients that can be difficult and always try to take that extra 6 seconds (as we call it in the office) to help those that need help.
I made it through the 3 o'clock hour and moved it to 4:15 which is too early to get up and hard to go back to sleep since the alarm goes off a 1/2 hour later. I did make it to the basement this morning and did a walk/run on the treadmill and then some time working on the lower body along with some stretching.
Off to work in a few minutes. Lunch time I need to run and get DD a cake for her birthday. I have her favorite chicken marinating and her BF will join us for dinner. That's probably the extent of the day. I hope to borrow a TV screen from someone this evening so I can see who wins DWTS.
Rhonda-Happy Anniversary! Love the blouse!
Patty-thinking of your friend on the loss of her mom.
Terry-nice to see a post from you!
That's about it from my world. Need to do a quick sweep of the table so we can find a place to have dinner this evening!
Hope everyone is well and thinking of you all.
Susan
