How has your day gone? Anyone else get snow, sleet, hail, or any other forms of precipitation? Have you made more progress toward getting ready for the holidays? Any fitness squeezed in?

I've had a very productive day, especially considering that Tim was supposed to help me, but he and Rob slept all day. I wound up doing 4/5 of this room by myself (or will have by the time I'm finished), put the wreath on the front door, pulled all the luggage and assorted totes out

How has your day gone?
It has been a wonderful day here.

Thank-you, Nancy. As anyone who's been through this type of thing knows, it's almost always on your mind, and it gives you such a feeling of helplessness and dread.
I hope you're able to work things out well with your MIL.
Hugs,

Rhonda,
We're certainly not tired of hearing about your dad. We all know how much you love your dad and what a tremendous worry this has been for you. We only wish that it could be better news.
Hugs,
Susan
How has your day gone? It's been a productive day but as most Saturdays go I work all day and it just seems that the more I do the more I see to but got my pictures put away, dusted and vaccumed. I got my car washed and it looks so nice. I scrubbed one bathroom down and wanted to get the other one done but DH said that he would take care of it-but that's what he said last week. Dirty bathrooms and kitchens are one of those things that really bother me. Washer and dryer have been going most of the day but still have one load sitting on top of the dryer. My kitchen floor is drying and still have to see if I feel like dragging out the Christmas stuff. I made a nice pork tenderloin for dinner. I still have to plan out my menus for next week. Oh, I also had the honor of helping DH bleed the brakes in the Mustang. Got to sit in the new racing seats-what an honor! Guess DS was a little surprised that Mom actually knew how to do that! I told DH that just sitting in the car scares me-he thinks it's awesome. Like father like son!
Anyone else get snow, sleet, hail, or any other forms of precipitation? No precipitation here. It was a nice sunny day just windy and cold. I took Otto out while it was still light out and it was cold. But we had a really nice walk. It's nice walking when the sun starts to set and all the beautiful colors are there.
Have you made more progress toward getting ready for the holidays? I did put out my fiber optic tree in my TV room and pulled out some of my Christmas scented candles. I do have to try to get out some of the bins from the basement. I'm not allowed to do any decorating until DD is home tomorrow afternoon. I told her that I want to simplify things a bit. I have so much stuff and I really only want to use the things that I really love and not feel like I have to use everything. It might be a good opportunity for me to start weeding out some of it.
Any fitness squeezed in? Yep, got that in before breakfast this morning and a nice quick paced walk with Otto. And no I've never tried the treadmill with Otto. I can see him trying to mark his territory on the treadmill!
Off to put things back in the kitchen and perhaps balance the checkbook. Hope everyone has had a great day!

I appreciate that, Susan. Tim and I were just talking, and I got him to call Mom about taking Dad to see his former primary care physician that he went to for years. We don't have a lot of confidence in the nursing home since all this shaky business has been going on lately, and we feel if his regular dr. saw the test results, he would let us know for sure what's going on. Also, he can see what a huge difference there is in him suddenly. Tim is going to get with my sister here who has power-of-attorney tomorrow, so we can get the test results released. He is so good in situations like this. Mom is going to check out the place nearer to us Monday. We are going to do everything we can to expedite getting him moved, and we'll take him to the dr. ourselves with Rob's help, so she won't have to pay for an ambulance. It's just way too much on her.
Hugs,

Rhonda....it is all consuming when a parent or any loved one has failing health.
Be like a postage stamp. Stick to it until you get there.

Grace, you are so right. I wish we could have been there for you when you were going through this, not just once but twice. My heart really goes out to you. You have a good outlook about this time of year and how much she enjoyed it.
Hugs,
