Donna...have a safe trip this weekend. Hope the weather cooperates for you and DH.

Didn't do much here except some laundry and getting a few Christmas decorations out. It was way too cold to stay in the attic too long. Thankful for heat in the rest of the house. I do believe that reinsulating the attic has improved the temperature in the house. Loving the very soft warm outfit I bought at Costco...it is like that really soft baby blanket material.

Weather is still nasty but I am thankful for the nice semi warm house to be inside nice and dry.

Thankful for the nice warm bed waiting for me. Going to make it an early night since I had two bad nights in a row.

Really enjoyed the link on communication and the difference between male and female brains. Now I am interested in learning more.

Enjoying the mashed sweet potatoes I found in the fridge. It is just what my tummy needed. That and peppermint tea helped the rumbling grumbling going on.

Thankful for a pretty good doctor visit.

Thanks ivillage for the lovely journal that was on my doorstep this morning. I am going to save it for the new year and start fresh in it then.

Thanks for listening buddies...

Gosh I have trouble keeping up with all the posts if I don't read them often enough or respond right away. I do remember seeing that positive thoughts and prayers need to passed over toward Nancy's mom and Rhonda's dad so know that mine are on their way. Nice to see a post from the "old" folks every so often, Margo, Phyllis, Shar.....you are missed when we do not hear from you in a while. My Thursday thankfuls is my warm toasty house, my family, my friends, my Explorer with those heated seats (yea baby!), having a job that is only 4 blocks from home and flexible, 99% of my decorating is done and my Christmas cards are written and just need postage........................oh on to the last day or two.

Katie had onother one of her migrane head aches yesterday morning so she was sent back to bed for some extra sleep with a few Motrins. Woke her up at 8:30 and had her get ready for school. She arrived an hour late but was there nonetheless. I then got into work late. After work a co-worker and I headed to a Christmas party. Party was in Huntington about a 25 minute ride from home. I drove ( I like knowing I have the control to leave when I want), we danced, ate and danced............got home around 10:30. My little piggies were so sore, that I wore flats today.

Work was a normal Thursday for me but the weather changed my day plans of heading out to the east end to ride Daniel. Katie has not seen Dan or been on a horse for 2 weeks now and she was so looking forward to her lesson. The rain, hail, snow, wintery mix started around 10:30. It was enough to make a mess out there, schools canceled evening activies and Rob's evening college classes were also canceled. I called the doctors office to see if I was going to be canceled and they informed me they had a 6:00 cancelation and would I like to come earlier. Of coarse I said yes..............what a wonderful lady. I was examined by the nurse PA and she was just great. We really talked and she said I looked good, did say that I HAVE to get my mamo done ASAP because it has been over 2 years since the last one but the breast exam was fine. We then discussed my options of my monthy Aunt Flo visits and how much trouble she has caused these last few months. She presented me with two options, which right now I can not recall. I need to pull out the information she sent me home with and read it. I will post about it on a different thread and get some feedback from you great ladies. But before I can do any of the recomended treatments she wants me to do a biopsy and a sonogram just to play it safe. So those appointments have been scheduled for 1/3 and 1/9. Rush home to feed the troups, Bill hand washed the dinner dishes and well the kids are all home and inside safe and warm, Bill is on the phone drinking his coffee and well this lady is getting ready to head upstairs and put her PJ's on.

Just a few random thoughts...........Judy you asked about low calorie snacks. Doing WW for

It's been a pretty good day, but I'm tired, as usual. I went to the hospital at 10:40 and was relieved to see Dad's eyes open. He was able to talk to me some and was doing pretty well. He had the IV back in, but they had not done the G-tube yet. Around lunch time he was wincing in pain and I found out he really had to go to the bathroom. Someone came to help, but it turned out to be a long process that also included changing linens and all. I went down to the cafeteria to get some brunch to take back upstairs and made phone calls, then talked to the nurse in the hall for a while. Once he was cleaned up, he slept very soundly.

Tim came to visit while Dad was sleeping, so we talked in the hall. The physical therapist came, which was a REAL surprised. She woke Dad up and actually did some gentle stretching exercises and helped him to SIT on the side of the bed somewhat gingerly. Not long after that, Mom and Cheryl came in, and we were cheering like cheerleaders!! Imagine their surprise after how bad he seemed yesterday.

I left about 3:30, because he'd gone back to sleep, but he was scheduled for surgery at 4:00. Cheryl called me later and said he'd come through it fine and recognized Mom afterward. At that point, he still had half an hour in recovery. I haven't talked to anyone since then.

Erin called this evening and said Jackson and Joe are sick, so they won't be going to that Christmas party Saturday night. That means our trip is off. As much as I'd love to go, I'm kind of glad to stay here, because of the way Dad's condition has been fluctuating. I'm concerned that Jackson is sick again so soon. Lauren called from MD and said she and her younger daughter are sick. The older one is bound to get it too.

It was 83 here today, sunny, and with a soft breeze, so it was just the way I like this time of year. On the way to the hospital, going over the long bridge it was clear at each end, but heavy fog all along the center of the river. It was neat looking.
