Thanks for that message this morning Patty. Always good to have a reminder about the reason for the season.

Strange weather is happening here. I woke up sometime during the night not sure what I was hearing until I realized it was sleet and/or freezing rain pelting the windows. I was awakened this morning to rain but there's also snow on the ground. Not sure what the temperature is going but if it's down we're in for some nasty streets.

Our tree remains naked. DD is still not feeling right although whatever the rash was on her face is gone. She stopped taking the antibotic which I'm not sure whether she should have or not. She was in that mental fog that I was in while I was sick and she was a bit of a mess in the kitchen on her own yesterday. I know how frustrating it is not be able to follow simple directions when you're mind is telling you one thing and you find yourself doing something else. She left the measuring up to me and I left her stirring things. She had some strange measuring things going on! She ended up taking a break and going to visit with her BF.

Not sure what's on my agenda today besides grocery shopping and I hope to get over to the nail place for a mani/pedi. We've run out of cookie tins so I hope to be able to find some somewhere. Maybe some easy bar cookies but unfortunately the house is in a total state of disorder and laundry is back up around my ears and I think there are bills sitting here that need attention as well. I'm feeling a little frazzled as well and as weird as it may seem I would love to just sit and read this afternoon.

Fitness is still not happening here and all the other things that should go along with it. I'm not sure when I go back to the doctor in January that my cholesterol levels are going to be any better Lipitor or not with the things going in my mouth. A week of not really eating much and I seem to be making up for lost time!

Well better get on with the day. Hope you all have a good one!

Good morning...

I've done no baking yet and found myself getting cravings while reading Susan's post.

Patty, that is one of the most beautiful messages you've written out of many memorable ones. Thanks, I needed that! I had to laugh about the gifts being left up to 3 men! Thank goodness that part doesn't happen today. We'd be out of luck, for sure. :-)

I heard a very good sermon this morning that reminds us we all have the DNA of our "Father". We are not victims, we are victors, and no matter what kind of curse of bad luck or whatever has been put on us, we were blessed by him first and that will supercede any bad things that happen. We just need to reach the season when those genes are ready to be released and for us to fulfill our destiny. We shouldn't hang around with negative, critical, jealous people who hold us back, but with positive, encouraging, and loving people, much like what we have on this board. It was an inspiring message for me, since I feel I have still not found my calling and am very frustrated by that. I know I've raised a family and I've been an interior designer, but I feel there is something out there I have yet to do. I think I'm going to get Joel O'Steen's book, Become a Better You. He isn't as scriptural a preacher as most are, but his message is guided by the scriptures, and he is so positive and motivating. His messages are a good mix with our pastor's.

The board was really slow yesterday. Everyone must have been very busy. I was at the hospital from noon till 4:30 with Cheryl and Mom. Dad was sleeping much of the time, but he could open his eyes and could talk. They released him and he went back to the nursing home where he was. We couldn't find anywhere else in time. Fortunately, a male RN that Lauren had dated when she worked there, still works there, and talked to us for a long time last night after he was off the clock. We will monitor him as closely as possible to see that he doesn't get back to the shape he was in and be more adamant if they try to act as though he's normal when he's not. The feeding tube should help. It's not connected now, but the little insert stays in his stomach for when it's needed. I stayed at the nursing home until 6:00 to be sure he was situated OK. Mom and Cheryl were still there when I left.

I was too tired to cook when I got home, Tim was working late, and Rob was out, so it was everyone for himself. I had planned to work on finishing the decorating, but just didn't have it in me. It was supposed to rain yesterday, but I didn't see any. It was 84 in the afternoon and was still 81 at 6:15 last night! We did get some rain with a little thunder and lightning this AM. By Monday the northwest part of town may hit freezing. We're in the SE, thank goodness.

Susan, you guys have really been getting hit with some nasty weather. No wonder you and your DD have been sick. I hope she's feeling better today. Your cookies sounded yummy. You have practically enough to open a bake shop!!

Nancy, enjoy your trip and seeing the trees. I hope you'll take some pictures to share.

PS -- Patty, I had trouble posting yesterday too, which is why I ended up not posting. Today is not as smooth as I'd like, but at least I can get on the board.

Afternoon Girls,

Gosh this past week was so busy and I didn't have much time to visit the board but after coming here today I feel so much better hearing that I am not the only one who is taking the slow road to Christmas Day.

Joel really is very uplifting. Mom tried to get me to listen to him a long time ago, but I'm not crazy about his accent and he blinks so much. Once
