Ever wonder just how many ball jokes three grown women can make????
That reminds me of an article in Glamour by Stephen Colbert - 10 Women with "Lady Balls." It was hysterical :).
We were up at 5:30 to pick up dd and gs; dropped gs at the sitters and dd to work. DH has a rehearsal at 1, and then we pick up gs/dd to go to a gathering at our in-law's. I have gifts to wrap before we go (we got small things for the 3 ladies with birthdays and my FIL). I need to pick something up for my nephew - I totally forgot he was going to be there...sigh.
If I could have a big stocking, I'd want a BOSU, a new Reebok Step (I have a home-made wooden one - it works, but I need something lower to the ground these days). I'd love to get one of those weight sets where everything clicks together and they are in sort of a pyramid shape for storage (I can't remember the brand name). And, some new fitness clothes - some of my fitness pants are pretty raggedy.
Cloudy, damp day out there this morning. I think it hit me at 5PM yesterday as we were wishing each other Merry Christmas that Christmas is Tuesday....oh my! Yes, Otto does get gifts, Usually it's a stocking full of treats, which we can't hang up for obvious reasons! I may stop by the pet store and get him a new leash and collar since his is looking rather ratty. One year he got a toy (which he doesn't play with but rather picks them up and runs to the door when I get home)but that year it had a squeaker in it and he ripped it apart in about 15 seconds to get the squeaker out.
DD is heading down from MA at some point today. I didn't speak to her yesterday so not sure what her plans were regarding that. I was going to do an early AM run to Costco but DD's BF called me at work yesterday and wanted to know if Mr.T and myself would be at home tomorrow morning so he could stop by while DD is having her nails done. I think this is the weekend...I'll keep you posted on any ring sightings!
House cleaning is on the agenda. It's funny that I had a dream about it before waking up. DH and I were having some kind of discussion about how much the house needed to be cleaned and I asked him if would like to help clean up and his response was I'm not spending my weekend doing housecleaning-hmmmmm....one of those dreams where I had to ask myself did I dream that or did that really happen!
My stocking....well a new treadmill that is correctly calibrated to tell me how far I've gone and how fast I'm going would be nice. But the fact of the matter I have all the equipment I need, DVD's that I can use but a nice big sock of consistency and determination would be nice but I know that no one can provide that but myself! Speaking of which complete lack of motivation has me still in my pjs and not in exercise attire and sweating away on the treadmill.
Patty have fun with the balls today!
Hope everyone's holiday clocks are running on time!
I am almost done. I surprised myself when I looked around last night; every box mailed, every package wrapped; pumpkin bread and pound cake in the freezer to take on the six hour drive to SO's house tomorrow...
I need to go with my son this morning to get a gift from him to SO, but we have ideas, I need to go to the library to rent some books on tape for the drive (a must), and that's it.
We've had three major snow storms in eight days; it seems like there is four feet of snow on the ground. So, no dog walking. No fitness right now.
But at least I finished frantically my work at the office yesterday and I am looking forward to the holidays.
My dear 13 son is making breakfast now; he just took the dog out. I am relaxing and taking care of us (I bruised my leg and strained one side of my back in an icy snow drift a few days ago and I am trying to lay low until it is better).
Tim got home safely at 2 AM. He was beat, of course, but too wound up to be able to go to bed right away, so he watched some TV and ate sandwiches. I don't remember what time I fell asleep. I did get a 4th load of laundry finished and put away and got all 3 batches of the Swedish nuts in tins and the Orange Pistachio Biscotti finished. It's the first time I made that recipe and they are so good -- very light with just a hint of sweetness and refreshing orange taste. I should do the eggnog lb. cake, Treasure cookies, and Orange White Chocolate cookies today, as well as clean house and put bows on gifts.
Tim went to the office around 7-something and should be coming home soon. He's going to bring me an Earl Grey tea from Panera. Ahhh... I need to get to the grocery store to pick up items I need for baking, but I guess I should get dressed first.
As for my fitness Christmas stocking, the best equipment in the world wouldn't do be any good if I don't get the drive and perseverance to use it properly. That's what I need. I used to want a Pilates Reformer so badly, but again, it wouldn't help without the right frame of mind.
We're excited about our "Jackson time" tonight. :-) Rob got a wii Guitar Hero controller and is having a ball with that. He just got a PS3 one, but this one is "better". I told him he should try to sell the other one then and get some money back.

Good morning, ladies!

Hi Patty,
I would have a stocking big enough to hold a good, straight, single 50 year old man - they can't all be taken.
