Saturday Evening Update!

Good evening everyone. How is your weekend going? Did you get a chance to "destress" a little? Do you have plans for New Year's Eve/New Year's Day?
Grace

Today was a mixed bag. Tried to sleep in, but woke up early anyway after a terrible night's sleep. Went to the prayer shawl meeting (we meet at the Church and crochet/knit things for different causes). After that took a ride out east to the outlet stores. I got a Coach bag for Christmas from the kids and I wasn't sure if I liked it...strange zipper on it. Got to the store and there was nothing better so came home with the same bag. So...that was my day. Just too tired to do much of anything else. A lot of stress over my sister again. I really don't need it with worrying about DD!
Nice job with the workouts, PATTY! It looks like you found your groove again with getting good workouts in. Good news about updating 2 of the chicken houses and with the cost of fuel, it will be great to have them be more efficient. How nice to have a break until February. Hope you can get some more time for you during that time. Interested in hearing how your 2007 list stacks up!
Love your workout plans for today, DONNA! LOL! I can handle jumping up and down from the couch. Definitely tell Kathy that her Dad is in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll jump on the evening update post and see if I can get my 'finish' for the day in.

Doesn't sound like a wasted day to me. Stress takes so much out of us all and I do believe you need a day to sit and enjoy a book or magazine. Kudos for getting that workout in. Much better than I did. I took the vacuum out and well, it is still sitting in the middle of the hallway.
Take time to recharge your batteries...
Hugs

Had to email Rhonda :o).
Grace, I think it's been about 2 years since I've been to a Red Hat meeting, but out of the blue my younger sister gave me a Red Hat pin at the nursing home meeting yesterday. I don't know if someone gave it to her (She'd never join!) or if she saw it and thought I was still active. So many lunches in a month gets very expensive and I prefer the Republican Women's Club way more than the other. That ties into my volunteer work for the party and for candidates. Still, it is a strictly for fun type of group, and I bet you'll enjoy it. I met a lot of nice women in ours.
J/Z-Deb, I just read your email when we got back from the movies. We had a guy instructor who was "a professional dancer", but he was horrendous at following the choreography, did a lot of calisthenics type stuff, and then would waste time splitting the class in half and doing parts from "Grease" and stuff like that. I left the class before it was over and never went to one of his again. It's amazing how different various instructors can be. I'm not sure Beto intended for instructors to totally do their own thing or it wouldn't really be Zumba, would it? I can see making it your own, so to speak, but that's why he sends out the instructional videos, so people have some continuity and know pretty much what to expect if they go from one instructor to the other. From your email, I don't think I'd like that other woman's class at all. Plus, she sounds as though she's kind of threatened by your knowledge of Zumba and the fact that other people enjoy your method of instruction. Watch your back!! ;-) Congratulations on deciding to become a sub and making it official! I'm proud of you!!
Dad had another good day today, one of his best in a long time. He was very aware of everyone and what was going on, where he was, who had been there yesterday and who hadn't, made some jokes, laughed some, and ate relatively well. We went outside to feed the ducks and got some sun and fresh air. Around lunchtime the clouds cleared, and we were in the low 80's today, so it was a lovely day to soak up some Vitamin D. I went to a new place we heard about that has good pizza and brought back an extra large for us to have in the private dining room. It's become our family dining room lately. I chatted with the owners while the pizza cooked, and they were so nice. I brought back 3 menus to the nursing home to help drum up more business. One of the people there had told us about it, but we didn't know how many others knew.
Rob is still spending time with his best friend. They helped another good friend move a big screen TV up three flights to his apartment this evening.
Tim and I went to see the sequel to "National Treasure" and liked it a lot. I liked it as well as the first one. Even though we've seen them piece together clues and in dangerous situations before, the new ones were very interesting and some took place in my old stomping grounds - - Washington, DC/MD/VA and during the Civil War era. The Dr. Samuel Mudd house is not far from my sister's house. Anyway, we give it 2 thumbs up!
I'm going to get my bath and wash my hair, take some Tylenol PM, and hope to get a decent night's rest. Hope you all do too.
