I was so tired I didn't think I'd see the ball drop, but I did. DH and I decided that a kiss simply wasn't enough to ring in the New Year :). Fell asleep around 2 and slept until 10. I have to go to work tomorrow, and I've been staying up late and sleeping in, so it's gonna be tough tomorrow morning.

We're leaving shortly to take DD and GS out to lunch at Applebee's and have them open their Christmas presents. I want to try a zesty chicken salad that has the AOK from Weight Watchers. I don't do Weight Watchers, but I"m always on the lookout for healthy things.

Gotta scoot.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi all and again Happy New Year! I loved the poem too Patty and it is nice to know it is a new year with no mistakes in it...a fresh start. Don't know where you find this stuff, but it is great that you continue to share it with us.

Went to sleep kind of early myself. I woke up around 11:45 and thought I would watch the ball drop but fell back to sleep before it happened. Boy I am pathetic! At least it was less time I could spend eating!

Don't know if you all heard me scream this morning when I got on the scale but I AM doing something about it already. I am writing down and counting up my WW points. I know we are going out for sushi later but I believe it is low calorie and I don't use soy sauce so the sodium will be low. I will have a salad before hand too. I will have salmon/tuna and get my omega 3's in.

I started my journal up again today and I will be recording food, exercise and thoughts & feelings. I am even going to take it with me when I go away. I never did that before but I will make time for it and hopefully it will help me stay on track while away.

Nothing much else for now except this weather is really crazy today. The sun is out in full force right now and a little while ago it was pouring rain with thunder and lightning. We won't be getting the cold that some of you are experiencing but colder weather is well on its way. Brrrrrr...thin blood can't take it.

Well...back to cooking. Have to get the vegetables into the chicken soup and pick the chicken clean and skim off the fat. Brown rice medley is in the rice cooker and a chicken is roasting on a rack and just about ready to turn over. Crazy me cooking even though we are going out to eat. Did I mention I like to cook? What a hobby to have! But, I really don't like to bake...I sound like Rachel Ray. I saw a cookbook on QVC this morning by Ellie Kreiger and I think I am going to order it. I love her show!

No taking down the tree here yet since we wait until after Little Christmas for that. I am anxious to put everything away this year but it is only a few more days.

Have a super day and a super year all...

Grace

Loved the poem Patty.

We got up to Seattle in record time yesterday, as we drove to our friends' house we could see downtown lit up so beautifully, and all around their side (Alki Beach) the condos that face downtown were lit up with Christmas decorations.

Hey Grace - your cooking marathon sounds like what I do on a Sunday.

Nancy,

I'd forgotten you were heading out of town to see the movie.
