Things are awfully pleasant around here, so if I could be anywhere it would probably be at a pool in Orlando whle I'm here (with Jackson, of course) or farther south in FL on the beach. I wouldn't even mind walking on the beach at home now since we're running around 80 and sunny.

I took Jackson to the sitter this morning and just hated to say good-bye. I always go through withdrawal, particularly when I've had 5 days with him. He just warms my heart and makes me smile even when things are rough. He is loving his basketball net I got him, so that makes me really happy. I went by Saks Fifth Ave. to see the Estee Lauder woman we love so much. Had to show her pictures of him. She gave me a very generous sample of their private collection cologne in a tiny bottle. It smells like gardenias similar to the other cologne I want, but I still like the other one better. Checked out Dillard's shoe sale. Ours up here are better, surprisingly. Got some cute dangly earrings as a birthday gift for Anna. Today is her birthday. She and Rob left for Asheville in the wee hours, Tim said.

Both of Tim's meetings went extremely well yesterday -- a definite answer to many prayers. Now, if we can just make it through till Feb. 1st and not have anything go wrong with these deals, life could be almost NORMAL again!! Hallelujah! So hard to remember what that's like. I continue to pray a lot.

Got a surprise voice message from LI-Deb last night. Even though it was late, I decided to chance calling her. I got to have a nice chat with Bill and a fun chat with her. Talk about a small world -- her 2 boys are headed (or should be in by now) the little town across the river from me where my dad is in the hospital (or back at the nursing home by now)!! Can you believe that?? Wish she could have come with them, so we could have gotten together. WE DISCUSSED THE NEED FOR ANOTHER FOF TRIP IN 20O8. Williamsburg at the end of Sept./beginning of October comes to mind... The boys are heading to Ft. Lauderdale for 1 day of R n'R after their delivery and pick-up. Hope the weather and "the hunting" is good for them. ;-)

Erin is on her way back here from a meeting, so I can try to purchase Microsoft Office 2007

I've been sick so not online at all since Tuesday. Doc says viral infection and laryngitis. If I could be anywhere else right now, I'd be in St. John's on the beach. I started reading a novel when we were there on vacation called "Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn" by Kris Radish. It belonged to the villa, so I left it there. Monday evening, I picked up the copy I'd placed on hold and finished it last night. I felt so connected to our vacation time reading this book - like reading it was an extension of that lovely time with no cares, phones, worries, etc. (Not to mention it was also a really great book :-)).

The meds I'm on make it sort of hard to go to sleep and when I did get to sleep I had really weird dreams - like a nurse and my cardiologist were standing in my bedroom evaluating me - strange. I guess that's what codeine cough syrup and sudafed will do :).

I'm supposed to work tomorrow, but I have permission to make it an abbreviated day. The doc gave me an excuse for yesterday and today. This weekend is 'opening' for the spring semester so all of us are scheduled to work some part of it. It won't be too bad; I'll be with the student employees, and they can be a lot of fun. We'll have a GA and another full-time colleague with us, so if I have to leave early, they'll be in good hands.

Well, I better go - I only woke up awhile ago, and I should get some breakfast. I rarely lose my appetite when I'm sick.

Hope you have a nice weekend Susan. Should start out ok with a happy wallet. Your house has to be in better shape than mine...it was needing some help before I got sick and now it just awful with the dust and Christmas decorations still all over. My dining room table is full of things waiting to go back in bins and then to the attic.

I realized that everyone needs a place to dump things! And oh, the junk draw...what would I do without that?

Donna...that is great that you found your groove and you are on the eating and fitness track. Whoever or whatever took over your body needs to come over here. I feel my appetite coming back with feeling better. By the way...WTG!!!

Enjoy the time with boss on vacation! Nice break for you!

Chile can be a good choice to eat. I went over to all turkey and DH likes it better now even in meatloaf. But there is some really lean ground beef out there too. Last time I needed ground beef, I took an onsale round steak and put it in the food processor and ground it up myself. Did it with chicken beasts too. Worked really well in recipes.

Enjoy the game and the weekend...

Sorry about your knee Nancy, but glad it is feeling a little better and the Celebrex is helping. You really had a long run with pain in that knee!

You can eat before you exercise? That is so good...I wish I could. It is really supposed to be so much better for your metabolism if you can get breakfast in early.

Lots going on for you this weekend. How good of you to the church bulletin. That is a lot of work.

Enjoy your weekend, your company and the ribs if you make them. yum...

Sorry you were sick but glad you are feeling better now. I do know what you mean about not being able to breathe through your nose. Sudafed helped me a little...a very little. Gave into to nasal spray a couple of times too. I hate to take medicine but it was bad enough to make me run for it

That is some dilemna you have with your step sister, Karen. Good luck with what you decide to do. Contact her if and only if it will make you feel better. I am sure all of this had a good deal to do with your mood yesterday.

Hugs, thoughts and prayers are going out to you too.

I can totally understand about needing friends, Deb. Sounds like a really nice weekend planned with meeting up with some. With being sick, I haven't socialized or exercised in a over a week and I am starting to feel it!

Enjoy...
