Voting has been really heavy in all the precincts in my area of town this morning and tonight on the way to Zumba. It's heavier than when the Dems vote too, maybe because it's for president. Anyway, it's always heartening to see a lot of citizen involvement. Last I saw, with 29% reporting, there was only 1% difference between McC and Romney with McC ahead.
I ran some errands this morning, then went to see Dad. It was a beautiful sunny day in the low 70's, so we went out to fee the ducks. Unfortunately, the ducks decided to stay in the middle of the lake, but we chatted with another man and enjoyed the sun. His PT came to get him and let him walk from the fence out there to the PT room. It was the first time he'd walked out there and had to deal with sidewalk cracks, a little uneven pavement, a slope, and the threshold at the exterior door. I was so proud of him! He is also able to bend his right hand a little more than he has been for a long time since he fell and dislocated the finger so badly and broke part of it, as well. The heat, electrical stim., and paraffin treatments must be helping although he thinks they aren't. He's so funny. He told someone the other day that she puts his hands in hot grease and told someone else it was lard. :-) When his PT was over he walked from that room back outside to the fence where we'd started. I've got to send an email to all the family to let them know about his progress. This afternoon we watched one of his beloved Walker Texas Ranger DVD's. I left about 4:30.
Zumba was strenuous, to say the least. I've put back on about 10 lbs. since I was going regulary before I got sick in the fall, and it makes a huge difference to have to lug all that extra weight around so quickly. On top of that, one of my Zumba shirts got put in the dryer by accident and I felt like a sausage in it! If I keep up the workouts, I hope to get some of this weight back off before long. I signed up for the master class with Master Instructor Jani Roberts this coming Thursday. I'm happy to learn they're going to limit the classes to 50 people. That will give us more room to work.
Oh, when I got hom this afternoon, Rob and his best friend were here unpacking. I wasn't expecting him until very late tonight. They actually got to the friend's house at 2 AM and he spent the night there. They were heading out and about, then Rob was having dinner at their house. I feel we should pay them room and board!! Tim is working late, so I had dinner from the Arby's drive-thru, but it was delicious. I've been craving something like pizza or spaghetti for a few days, so that chicken parmesan sub hit the spot. Probably wasn't low cal though...
OK, time to check the election results up to this point and to get a bath and wash my hair. I'm excited about bedtime again. Doesn't take much to excite me these days. :-)
Your trip sounded like great fun, plus you got a fun friend out of it. Hard to beat that. Glad you made it there and back safely. I will try not to wear out Beto. LOL! I'm so eager to meet him and should not have to worry about icy roads ;-), particularly by March.
Tanya and Jani are like that about choreographing on the spot (actually, so is Christine and she tends to do more intricate stuff than they advocate), and they went nonstop all day too. They do this probably almost every day along with all their traveling to the various venues. All those people have amazing stamina!
Did anyone have on the Zumba cargo pants at the workshop? I love the black ones I saw on a couple of women at our Zumba Jam, but they're out of them on the web site. I'm not into red or silver for working out. Wish they'd bring back the cap sleeve Tees. The new hoodies are pretty cute. I like bright or dark colors instead of pastels or white though.
Sounds as though there was no lack of good places to eat. OK, give up the name of the famous gay guy!
My larges seem like smalls! I never wear light colors for exercising because they do become transparent. Brights show exactly where you've sweated even if you can't see through them. Guess that's why I like black and darks the best.

I know I don't need to tell anyone here how frustrating it is to type up all your thoughts in a post then BOOM...ivillage crashes.
Oops, great minds and all that... LOL!
