Good morning everyone. Happy Groundhogs Day! Anyone here trust the little rodent to forecast spring? On
Good Morning,
After an evening of driving rain and wind the sun has emerged along with spring like temperatures once again.
Tough night of sleep last night. DH usually has the TV on when I go to bed and I'm pretty much accustomed to the noise but last night it just seemed unusually loud and I think he's becoming increasingly hard of hearing and then he kept changing channels so the volume kept going up and down. Sleep at last and then I woke up about 3AM to DH's snoring and all these strange house noises. Couldn't figure out what or who they were. At that point I couldn't go back to sleep and then tossed and turned and dozed on an off until about 7. I finally found out with a phone call from DS at 7:45 this morning from the store where he works that the noises I was hearing was him leaving the house to go down to the store. The alarm kept going off and he and the manager ended up spending the remainer of the early morning hours at the store instead of having to keep responding to the alarm. At least I wasn't hallucinating! Needless to say I'm really tired this morning and woke up with a pounding headache. I couldn't get myself down to the basement for any type of workout. It's a beautiful day for a walk so I'll have to get Otto out for an afternoon walk.
I have a cut and color for later this morning and I'm very excited about that. My hair has gone wild and the gray roots are really bad. I also feel better after her magic scissors and color bottle have done their thing.
The washer and dryer are presently doing their thing and I'm going to do a light house cleaning. I hear the spray bottle going which means DH is cleaning the bathroom. After the grouting job last week the shower remained kind of icky so I'm glad that was on his agenda.
I have soup planned for this evening although it's not really a soup kind of day. But I'm going to make it anyway and maybe put some bread in the bread machine.
That's about it from my neck of the woods. Hope you all have a super Saturday!
Susan
Patty, I laughed out loud at your disclaimer. You are good for the soul! :-)
Susan, I feel for you with the lack of sleep. So glad it's Saturday and you don't have to be at work. Maybe some rest and pain reliever will do the trick. When I read that your husband was cleaning the bathroom, my reaction was Wow!
I think I may have discovered why the sleeping pills haven't been working right. I take another medicine at bedtime that I really should take in the morning, but always forget. I think the two were canceling each other out or something, because I was staying up till 4 AM sometimes. It was after 2 before I went to bed this morning, but because I hadn't taken the other pill at bedtime, I went to sleep fairly quickly and stayed asleep most of the night. HALLELUJAH!! Oh, one of the side effects of the sleeping pills is weight gain. I can vouch for that. I've been ravenous and have put on 3 lbs.!!
I think I will do a walk on the edge today, the edge of the ocean. I've been thinking since last night that I really need some sun, negative ions, and the smell of salt air. It's cool, but sunny, and we should hit 70 inland, so I may put on a sweatshirt and windbreaker and head down there. It's been too long since I walked on the beach. Tim's at work, of course, and Rob is out doing his thing. I have plenty to do here, but I'm tired of being home alone, while everyone else is out living life. Hey, D-Deb, if you ever do a Friday Five question about which movie best describes your life, my answer will be "Home Alone"! ;-)
When I get back, I should vacuum and scrub floors in several rooms, do more laundry, and numerous other indoor things, not to mention that the yard needs work. I'd like to get Rob to mow. He still hasn't put that vent on the opening in the roof soffit and Riley was on the roof twice yesterday. She thinks she's a mountain lion or a gargoyle, I guess!
Better get moving. I'm still in pj's and haven't eaten anything.

Hi, everyone!
Walk to the edge, huh?
Donna
It's my oldest that's getting married so it will here on expensive LI. Can't quite believe the cost per plate. I've suggested something smaller and use the extra $ towards the downpayment on a house but they seem to want something big but not huge but still lots of $.
The younger in MA when she decides it's time to get married will get married in MA. It makes more sense and she loves it there. She loves North Hampton and apparently there is an she loves the North Hampton Inn. Friends of theirs got married there and she loved it-plus accomodations for out of town guests. But I think that's a few years away.

Walk the edge, huh?
I think I'm probably doing that living in NY State and being a Patriots fan :). Yesterday, one of my student employees asked me what time I thought the Super Bowl would be over, and I said "it's over when the Pats win" LOL
DH and I both got up really late, and then we ran errands. I feel like I'm walking the edge ignoring the multiple phone calls from DD for babysitting, rides, etc. I simply don't have time; the weekends are the only time I have to do many things....
DH and I are performing together tonight at a Cabaret at our church. It's celebrate the arts month, and we showcase the artistry of our members. We're doing 2 lullabies that we arranged for flute and voice and 3 Irish love songs by John Corigliano.
I have to go run through them now and then rehearse with DH. I haven't sung classical music in aehile.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Judy
We could also go to Coldwater Creek and other stores and do lunch. We might even get radical and do some fitness! ;-)
Try to take deep breaths periodically tomorrow.
