I have been intrigued by the descriptions of Zumba.
The 15th of this month will be a year I've been doing Zumba and I got certified in August even though I don't want to teach. I just wanted to study all day with 2 fabulous instructors. That doesn't make me an expert, but I do know about it.
I'm not a video person. I've tried and tried, but can't get excited about video routines. On the other hand, J/Z-Deb does really well with them. I have the 4 DVD Zumba set and I would be happy to pass it on to someone else who could use them. Wish I'd known my sister in MD was going to order it. I'd have given her mine. Classes with a good teacher are so much better. It's like the difference between a CD and a live concert or watching a sporting event on TV or being there live. However, if you don't have classes there or just want to learn steps before going to a class, a DVD would be good for that.
Did you check out class and instructor locations @ Zumbafitness.com?

I'm by no means an expert, but I teach Zumba at three different locations with varied students at each (kids to older, beginning classes, more advanced, etc.).
