Good Morning,

Another gloomy dreary day here. It was actually so warm yesterday that when UPS came to the office for our pickup he was in short sleeves. I commented that it must be warm out and he responded that he wished he had worn shorts to work. That is due to change over the weekend back to winter like temperatures.

I had a call from my sister yesterday that her younger son and his wife are expecting. This is the son that got married rather unexpectedly and would never let his mom have any kind of party to celebrate their marriage. But she is indeed going to do something to celebrate her first grandchild! She's very excited and I'm so happy for her and of course my nephew and his wife. I also found out that my other sister's younger DD's husband (they live in England) who has been sick since November was finally diagnosed with a virus that has apparently attacked the lining of his heart. He now has 2 leaking valves and will have to undergo surgery to replace those valves. Very scary.

Up and down to the basement for a workout this morning. I've had a good week in the workout department. Just have to keep that motivation going!

Tonight is my first therapy appointment or as my DD affectionately calls it going to get your "head shrunk". I have to say I'm a bit nervous and at the same time looking forward to it as I think it's definitely a step in the right direction for me mentally. Things on the homefront have been quite up until last night where the someone started the roller coaster.

I'm putting a chicken in the crockpot with some red potatoes for tonight's dinner. DD and I will be coming in and out at different times so this will be nice and easy for everyone.

Younger DD found out she will be headed to Germany in September for work. She'll be there for her birthday. She's not sure how much she'll get to see of Germany since she'll be working but I think it's exciting anyway! The company is finally moving her out of her sales position. She's been trying to juggle two different job positions but she'll finally be able to devote her worktime to her new position. Apparently there's lots to learn and a lot of work but she's happy that she will no longer have to divide her time.

Thankful for crockpots.

Thankful for my workout equipment.

Thankful for my job and the income that it provides, my home that provides the roof over my head, family and friends and of course my 4 legged member of the family.

Thankful for timers on coffee pots.

Thankful for all of you.

Thankful for the opportunity to get my mental health in order.

I guess I'd better get my act together so I can get myself to work on time. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Best of luck to you at your first appt. tonight and kudos to you for going! Does your DH know? If so, what was his reaction? It may be painful at times, but it's good to let it all out and have a professional help you deal with it. It may turn out to be some of the best money you've ever spent. Sure hope so.

Congratulations on becoming a great aunt! It's a fun "job"! :-) How long will your DD be in Germany? I'm sure you'll miss her, but it is a great opportunity, kind of like Rob with the Coast Guard. So sorry to hear about the 2 leaking heart valves needing replacement. Let us know when the surgery is, so we can keep him in our prayers.

Hugs,

Oh, Patty, Patty, Patty... You should be doing a morning column for your community newspaper (as well as us, of course)!! Your thoughts and experiences are such a great way to get going in the morning.

Susan, our Long Island temps have been weird, haven't they? I guess we should enjoy and be thankful for the warmer temps because we know those cold ones are not far behind (Sunday I believe). Good job on your morning workout. Congrats on the new baby that will be coming into the family. I am sure your sister is extremely excited and rightfully so. Sorry to hear about your neice's husband. What a scarey thing to go through, my thoughts and prayers are with them all. Also wanted to wish you luck at your first head shrinking session, I think it is wonderful you are taking that step and going. Please let us know what you think. Now onto the crock pot, what kind of chicken do you put in and what kind of seasonings because I hardly use mine and I really need to start. Makes life in the evening so much easier.

Judy sure do hope you are feeling better really soon. This horrible bug is floating around here too, it seems to ping pong everyone. I think you might need to head to the doctor anyway and check because if that fever is lingering this long that is not good. Are you taking vitamins? At least maybe you can add or double up on some vitamin C. Hope you feel better!

Rhonda I guess I missed your post but what is the "Flex-It Incentive" program ? Good for you for staring regardless of what it is. Is Rob as excited about the Coast Gaurd as you? What is Tim's views on this subject? Glad your dad got his own room and is getting settled. Does he have to keep his door open during the night? Can he sleep with ear plugs or with music by his bedside? About that light that comes from under the door, have you seen those info commercials about this thing you slide under the door to block drafts? I wonder if it would cut back on the light? Hope you have a wonderful day today with your dad.

Well here is my morning post.............just for the record I am off today, if you have not figured that out, lol. Went to the gym this morning and only did our 26 laps, in 25 minutes. I know I could pick up the pace but Aunt Linda can't and I won't do that to her. We commited to this together. I am thinking about heading back this morning for a treadmill walk or maybe tonight to do that spin class again and a walk. I am opting for the second choice. Patty, I do not think you realize how much your posts say to us. Another great one, thank you!
