You may look half your age, but if you're over 40 there are certain things you should never wear -- no matter what.
That's the word from fashion guru Tim Gunn, who serves as the mentor on the hit reality series 'Project Runway' that premiered on Bravo in 2004.
When Gunn was a guest on the 'Oprah' show, he laid down the law to the over-40 crowd.
If you're over 40, you should never wear:
1. Horizontal stripes
2. Jackets that hit at mid-thigh
3. Pleated pants
4. Double-breasted blazers
5. Capri-length pants
6. Low-rise jeans
Makeup artist Bobbi Brown, who is about to turn 50, says the key to looking beautiful as we age is not what you put on your face, but rather how you care for your body. "It's about eating," she says. "It's about exercise more than anything else."
She warned that skin care is key for older women. As we age, our skin gets drier, so it's important to switch from a powder blush to a cream rouge. (Note: Wish I could find one that wouldn't cause me to break out).

Summer-before-last they were so hard to find, last year they were readily avaiable, and I'm pretty sure they'll be everywhere this year.
Wish I could do sleeveless, but my upper arms are not one of my better body parts, despite all the sports and

Hmmm...I'm afraid I'm not very fashionable either...
1. Horizontal stripes--Most of my summer tops have stripes.

Well sheesh!
Hmmm, I have a problem with some arrogant man "laying down the law" on fashion based only on our age.
"The people around me have a lot of energy and fresh ideas; I have no problem working with and for younger people.

Personally, I love Tim Gunn and watched "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style" when it aired. He showed a different side to him than on Project Runway (which I don't like).

Judy that was funny and true too!
I was brought up in a church where women/girls wearing pants of any type to church was a BIG no no.
