Good morning everyone. Overslept this morning and need to get moving and down to CL. If you leave a few thousand chicks alone too long

Good Morning,

I loved your post this morning Patty. It certainly spoke to me and reminded me of some of the challenges that have come this way. I also loved the picture.

Dinner last night was very nice. The food was good if I do say so myself. And yes, Otto was on his very best behavior. Otto loves everyone but he really seems to take to certain people. He'll come over to me at dinner time and rest his head on my leg. Well he must have taken a real liking to my gf's DH. He went right over of him and put that big furry head on his leg and looked at him as to say OK I like you now scratch my head! My gf is so funny and I wish we didn't live at different ends of LI. She's taken up sewing and knowing absolutely nothing about has taken classes and started with simple projects and found she really enjoys it. She's also taken up quilting and some of the projects she's been working on are really beautiful. She takes as many free or low cost classes that she can find using her library and other sources. As the demands of her work life tax her she's working on slowing down the rest of her life and finding those things that she can truly enjoy in her spare time. Her DH is funny talking about constantly finding threads on everything from her quilting projects. She's determined that she's going to find a hobby that I enjoy! She also came bearing gifts. She made me a tote bag-all lined and made in a fabric that her DD had designed. Her DD went to the Fashion Instiute of Technology and majored in textile design. She's working for a company that designs wallpaper, carpeting and fabrics for hotels etc. They apparently are using one of her designs for a hotel in Florida and for one of the covers for their design books. She also made a pretty floral runner for my table for spring and a really pretty floral centerpiece for spring.

Today is the typical Sunday around here. I'm in the process of making up menu plans for next week. I really haven't been very good with my eating the past few days and haven't been working out at all so I really need to get back to the drawing board. Grocery shopping will be first on the agenda and then I have a manicure appointment. The checkbook needs to be put in order. I think I've said that every day this week. Mountains of laundry are waiting to be done so I'll try to make the mountain into more of a hill. I do hope to get some reading time in as well. I guess that makes the day a pretty full one.

Nancy-hope you're enjoying your weekend with your DD and DSIL. I haven't seen my DD since Christmas and I'm looking forward to her coming down at the end of the month. Thoughts and prayers are with them as they make their decisions.

Sassy-good to see a post from you.

Rhonda-really sounds like you're getting a lot of work done at your parent's house! Bet it's going to look super when it's all done.

Patty-I'll try to use the word-but once again I think one DH in the house is already more than I can handle :)!

Better get back to what I was doing! Hope everyone has a super Sunday!

I'm embarrassed to say that I finally just figured out how to make the print on this laptop screen bigger.

Good Sunday Afternoon! Sunny day here today, but I haven't stuck my head out to see how cold it is. I think it is going to be mild.

I never got a chance to check in yesterday. I took the last inten-sati class at the gym and it was so emotional. The affirmations for March fit in with this whole situation and the instructor/coordinator broke down after class. The class was packed and it was group hug time and pictures were taken. She is so determined to find another place and do what she does best. Afterwards I scooted over to the "prayer shawl" meeting and then didn't get home until after 12:30. Finally ate and took care of business stuff that had to be done....like paying bills, the rent, filing...etc. Then off to Saturday night Mass and then to DD's babysit. The girls were so good and I really enjoyed alone time with granddaughters.

Rhonda....I missed what was going on with the house/condo situation too. No wonder you are not sleeping. I hope things get better soon.

I have to come back and check in with all...DD just stopped by.

Happy Sunny Sunday here - it is supposed to be 70+ today, and I think it has made it.

I was so happy to read that you and DD came to an understanding about the engagement party and your sis and family.

Love the dress pattern, Lori! I hope you can get your machine up and running again. What a bummer to have it die so quickly. Glad you went for the bed...sounded like you two really needed one. Mattresses sure are expensive...especially anything with good support.

We had company last night and had a very nice time. The chicken fajita turned out great and we just warmed up some refried bean and spanish rice and had that with.

Actually, I've been sleeping better the last few nights than I have in ages. I think with the cold medicine out of my system, so many hours of manual labor, and the sleeping pills, it's all coming together for blessed relief!
