Patty, thinking of your sister today. Hope all goes well and thoughts and prayers are with her and all of you.
I just stuck my head out the door to throw some recycling out and there's a definite hint of spring in the air. I'm really looking forward to walking Otto in some daylight and having green back on the trees. We are supposed to have rain headed our way today but for now the sun is shining.
It was a good night of rest last night although at some point I think my alarm must have gone off and I shut it off and rolled back over. I did wake up a little later than usual and took me a few minutes deliberating on whether to head to the basement. I finally decided that I needed to get up and get at it which I did.
It's been a morning of whirling and twirling, folding and putting away laundry this morning. Leftovers from the weekend and yesterday that I didn't feel like putting away but for now the mountains have been reduced to small hills.
DH is beginning a computer class this evening at the local community college. I'm in no way computer savy but I do ok but he really has no clue and gets frustrated just trying to get to a website. It's a beginner's class being sponsered for union members through the local so it's for free. I think the course runs about 6 weeks and 2 hour sessions. I hope it helps since we've had more than one meltdown over frustration at the keyboard.
There's lots of leftovers in the refrigerator so I think DD and I will just help ourselves to whatever we feel like and then DH can figure out what to reheat when he gets home.
As always, hope that the workday goes smoothly and quickly. We've been trying to declutter the office since we're scheduled to be out of our present office space at the end of the month. It's just as slow a process there as it is at home!
That's about it from my neck of the woods. Have a great day!
Hope the repairman gets your machine fixed. I loved the pattern that you posted. Between seeing the projects my gf has done and seeing the pattern I'm getting a bit of an itch to get back into sewing. Aside from making a pillow or two and general mending I really haven't used my machine much. Of course someone would have to find a place to put the extra computer monitor that is presently sitting on top of the cabinet!
Good morning! We're having the windy March weather here, but it's pretty warm. Yesterday, when my sister and I went to the store, it was 84 out. At the rate the wind is blowing, most of the old leaves on the trees should be down soon. I was back out sweeping piles in the driveway yesterday morning before I went to Mom and Dad's. On the way to their house, I stopped by Tim's office just to visit him briefly and get him to come outside in the sunshine. He needed a break.
I spent most of the afternoon scrubbing Mom's kitchen cabinets with Murphy's Oil Soap and a stiff bristle brush. My knuckles are sore from bumping against the brush so much. We made a run to the Dollar Store and to the grocery store for a few things, and when we got back, Rob and his girl friend were there. I was really pleased that he cared enough to want to come help. He did several things and she even cleaned the glass doors. She made quite an impression on my sister and my BIL. They were ready to take her back to MD with them. :-) They didn't stay terribly long, because they wanted to ride to the beach and to the Coast Guard PX. Once I finished the cabinets, I painted Kilz on both sides of the new door to the utility room, so it can be painted today. We hope to do the bright coral color in the kitchen today. My BIL was supposed to leave for Sarasota last night, but he still had a number of things to do, so he's leaving today.
It was still a little bit light out when I got home, so I let the dogs out while I skimmed leaves from the pool. If we'd had the heater on, we could have swam yesterday. Water is way too cold though.
I was going to go work more today, but no one is scheduled to go see Dad, so I'm going to go there instead. He's been getting more confused again lately, so we're concerned about his nutrition, hydration, and whether the UTI has cleared up. I know Mom talked to some people yesterday, but I may have to again today. My other sister seems to have what I had, so she's been in bed and out of commission this week. She had to go to Las Vegas for some kind of business meeting for several days
