I tried steel-cut oatmeal for the first time a few years ago when my doctor told me to eat more fiber. Wow, I was hooked! I'll never go back to the instant kind. Steel-cut oats do take longer to cook, but they are chewy, nutty, and satisfying. I add a little brown sugar and sometimes a few dried cranberries, and it fills me up for hours. Great way to start a winter morning.... :)
I've been eating steel cut oats for years and know they are a necessary part of my healthy lifestyle but its always good to see something in print that backs up my experience.
You put the same thing in yours that I like in mine! Sometimes I put in some pinenuts for extra healthy crunch and a little ground flaxseed for extra fiber, Omega 3's,
