Hi All:
Well, the weekend is the hardest time for me to control my portions. My husband and I have a camp in the mountains and down hill ski every weekend in the winter. The problem is we also eat out a lot on the weekend. We often share a meal or I'll take half home but it's still tends to be more than I eat during the week so I have to be REALLY diligent. These last 10 pounds are soooooo frustrating to me............
We are taking our 23 month old nephew with us tonight. Yes, he has his own skis:>) We have to have him back Sunday morning for Easter so it'll be a short weekend. We usually don't spend Easter with family but since we have to come back, we'll have dinner with the in-laws. That will also be a challenge for me to control portions.
I would love any encouragement, ideas, and a kick in the butt when needed!!
Thanks, Julie
Good Morning,
A very windy day yesterday and looks like it will continue through today. I really don't like that howling noise that I hear when I'm down in the basement. Freaks me out a bit!
Younger DD will be making her way from MA to NY this morning. I'm hoping that the office will be closing early today. It's supposed to be a 1/2 day. Of course 1/2 day usually means 2 or 3 o'clock. DD and I are also supposed to be headed to the cell phone store. I want to look into a pay as you go cell phone rather than keep locked into a cell phone bill that DH and I will never use the minutes. DD has her own service now so this monthly cell phone bill is just unnecessary. The cell phone service that I use has a service where you can get 30 minutes for $10 a month or more minutes if you need them for a bit more which suits our cell phone use a lot better. DD has offered to pick up the cost of the new phones which have to be purchased so we're going to look into that.
Older DD has to go for her echocardiogram this morning. Really hope that nothing shows up. The doctor didn't seem to worried and didn't hear anything so keeping fingers crossed that it's nothing. It will just be a relief to actually hear that there's nothing to worry about.
Work has been an absolute nightmare. Between things going on here and trying to keep up with a workload and trying to sort out the 16 years of mess that has accumulated since they've been in this space it's just like sorting out your clutter at home. I keep moving back and forth between things and feeling like I'm not doing anything very well.
Apparently Easter will be a quiet one around here. We had invited everyone here but DH's niece who lives upstate wanted her sister and family, her mom and my SIL to come to her house. We're never invited for whatever reason so I'll make something special that the family will enjoy.
DH has an interview with a dealership in Queens on Tuesday and he printed out a few more resumes to give to some of the mechanics who are moving on to different dealerships in the hopes that they may be looking for a parts guy.
That's about it for me. It's TGIF and payday so that's a big plus for the day! If you have the day off-enjoy! If you're working hope the day goes quickly. Hope family members, co-workers, pets, relatives all behave themselves. If you've been under the weather hoping you're feeling better and everyone have a Fabulous Friday!
Susan
Hi Julie,
I wanted to welcome you to the board. Lots of support and encouragement and just a great group of women here!
Your weekend sounds like a lot of fun-enjoy! Would love to see a 23 month old on a pair of skis!
Susan
Went to Conn last night by ferry, met up with Katie and Sharon, did dinner and then caught the last ferry back to LI. The boat was rocking and rolling last night in both directions because of the wind. Got up early cleaned up my room and I am heading into the office for a few hours. I am totally overwhelmed there and although I do not want to be there I need to clean up a bit. I promised myself to be out of there before lunch hour. I just had some scrambled egg whites and a bottle of water so I am heading out in two minutes. All the boys are off to work and Katie is sound asleep upstairs. When I get home I have several batches of laundry to do, vacuuming and dusting. I guess I will do my grocery shopping early tomorrow for Easter dinner. My middle sister is supposed to come over with her kids for pizza and wine tonight to give me my birthday gift but I think I will try and switch to her house. Just easier with her kids. Well let me run so that I can get back early enough.

Hi Nancy:
I live in Maine:.) We have had a great winter with lots of snow. Yes, my nephew is soooo CUTE on his skis!
I was afraid that I would hear that my weight was fine, blah, blah, blah. It's not with me though........So I'm not sure this board is going to work for me:(

Ah, the Cabbage soup diet - yuck.

Morning everyone!
Thank you Nancy: I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone by saying the board might not be for me. And, I don't mind opinions and I certainly would not want anyone to support unhealthy behavior. I totally agree 1000 calories is not enough:>)
What I am looking for though is getting back to a high level of fitness and ideas on how to attain that. Just wasn't sure if the board had the focus I'm looking for in regards to exercise and nutrition. I just got a wonderful message from Ginger who is my same height and has the same goal I have. She had some great ideas that she is trying and was able to share what her experience has been so far.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
Julie
