We got sideswiped with some of the snow here in Michigan. OK, I'll admit it's very pretty (there's always a silver lining, right?), but it's almost April, darn it all, and I'm in the mood for tulips and daffodils, not another 3" of the white stuff!

Anyway, other than bellyaching about the weather, there's not too much going on with me today. I want to catch up on my taped episodes of HBO's "John Adams," and then go out and buy a nice bottle of wine to take to Easter dinner at my sister-in-law's house tomorrow.

And as to that dinner, it will be the first serious test of my springtime weight loss goals. I don't want to wake up on Monday knowing I ate all my calories for the week the night before! There are always a lot of tempting foods on the table when my husband's family gets together (I am the only one with a weight problem, unfortunately, so nobody worries too much about cooking light), so I'll have to be strong, strong, strong!

No snow here. Thank goodness! There are some clouds rolling through. Not sure what the weather is calling for.

An exciting day is planned. I think I'll color my hair. Yup. That pretty much describes the excitement for the day. Cleaning is definitely on the schedule. Painting. The Man is finally deciding to paint. You know...the day before Easter when I'm cooking and cleaning and getting ready to have people over.

That's pretty much my agenda for the day. I'll whip up two key lime pies sometime today. I thought about getting a jump start on my new habit of exercising but why rush things? Monday is coming.

No choc covered Peeps to be found here, Patty-cakes. Flo just left so I think I'm safe!

Good morning Miss P and the rest of you wonderful ladies. House is quiet and what a nice feeling that is! Last night my middle sister, her kids, my parents, Rob, Katie and I had pizza for dinner, with some wine and a chocolate cake for dessert. I never get chocolate cake in this house so that was a nice birthday treat. Threw the rest in the garbage this morning before my grubby fingers could dip! Just finished my first cup of morning tea, I have folded a batch of laundry that is sitting on the kitchen table, I have another batch in the dryer and the washing machine. My bed is made and I have already taken a shower. I think an other cup of tea and some scrambled eggs then I am out of here. I need to head to the grocery store to get my food for the week and for tomorrow's dinner. Only my parents and Bill's parents will be here but it is another whole leg of lamb and I just need the fixings to go around. I have the stuff I need for the kids easter baskets, just need to grab a gift card for the boys to throw in with their candy. I bought Katie the Taylor Swift CD for her basket. After I get the groceries in I want to take a ride over to Chicos, for I got this coupon in the mail (we would not want me to waste a coupon) and I would love to buy myself an other jacket. Plus Bill threw $100.00 to buy myself something. Dinner will be something easy like maybe a steak for the grill or a roast chicken and a quiet night home since I will be a busy bee tomorrow.

My parents had the cleaning crew in twice and are expected back on Monday. The old oil tank has been cut up and taken away. They had 99% of the speedy dry (that is like cat liter for those of you who do not know) taken out and they have 3 air purifying systems going, 1 in the basement and 1 in the livingroom and 1 in my parents bedroom. They house smells better my parents said but for now they were instructed to not go down stairs till Monday. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts for my parents, this was hard on them and I could see it in their eyes last night.

I have not called for my new mamo or sonogram yet. I will call on Monday and try to get an appointment this coming week. Between the comings and going around here, the house, kids and work it was really hard to find the time. I promise it will be taken care of this coming week.

Nancy enjoy that snow and I hope you are feeling better. Susan did your boss let you guys go early. We just left our place at 2:00 and told our boss we were leaving early. Karen, sorry your boys got into an accident but I am glad they are alright. Good luck with fixing the new truck. Patty, you behave yourself tomorrow at dinner, lol. Enjoy your time off without your chickens. Mary did you enjoy your concert. Grace are you going to see the baby over the weekend? Is your dd hubby around? How is she feeling? Rhonda, I got your card yesterday......thanks. Hope you are doing alright and I am thinking of you. Ladies everyone else have a wonderful Saturday!

Hi, Patty and all! As always, another great message today! I like that poster too. I think I should just get one and hang it up somewhere I can see it and remind me everyday of what my goals are. I need those reminders that this 58 1/2 year old heart attack survivor can still make those 20 year olds sweat and ask for mercy! LOL! I may never be a size 2 but this body is sure working great for me right now with the extra fluff. It will go some day when the time is right.

Glad I got my fitness in for today and the weekend. If I get all my precooking done today...make sauce, meatballs, grill vegetables and put the veggie lasagna together...I might be able to sneak a walk in tomorrow after church and the turkey is in the oven. I will have 3 of my 9 grandchildren over tomorrow to keep me on my toes too. Bought some beautiful strawberries and Stoney Field Farms fat free vanilla yogurt for dessert for tomorrow. There are some cookies for the die hard dessert eating family.

So far this new cholesterol lowering medicine seems pretty benign. Oh just don't ask DH...he is on the receiving end of one of the side effects. But, now I have an excuse as to why my digestive track is making noises. ;-) I do get a little indegestion but I can handle it and maybe it will keep my appetite in check. I hope the medicine is doing what it is supposed to do. It is making me concentrate on eating more fiber and less fat and lots of water to avoid the biggest side effect. Can't knock something that is helping me stay on track more.

Easter Blessings all...

Good luck tomorrow with the food challenge. Try to enjoy the non food parts of the day and a little something special so you don't feel deprived. I will be thinking of you and your determination to reach your springtime weight goal.
