Good Morning,

It looks like a beautiful snnshiny day here. If I had gotten my lazy bu** out of bed a little earlier an earlier morning walk would have been nice. I haven't regained any motivation to work out.

I figured I would get a little computer time in before the mad rush starts in around here. DD and BF are headed down this morning and will want to shower before having to head out for the engagement party. I have to pick up my sister who lives in NYC from the train station before we leave for the party and since she has to leave early figure out a way to get her back to the train station. DD says that there is a train station right near where the party is so perhaps she can take a train from there. DS needs a pair of shoes and since he didn't get a day off during the week he has to take care of that. I told DD that I would fix a box for her basket of candy that she made as favors. I had left my ribbon and cookie jars in a bin in the front of the Christmas stuff but DH must have rearranged everything and it seems to be buried somewhere so I think it will be easier to just go buy some. I also found water in a container in the basement. I'm really hoping we don't have a leak somewhere or have water coming in through the foundation.

DH got his official last paycheck yesterday and I think it hit us both last night and it is indeed a frightening thing. But not going to think about that today and looking forward to the party and hope things go well and drama free.

I managed to kill the gray in my hair via Lady Clairol last night. I haven't done it myself in ages and what a mess I made. I started using wrong tubes and ended up with color dripping all over me and I was a bit afraid when I was done how the color would end up. It didn't work real well on the resistent gray but the bad spots are covered up and my hair didn't turn purple or any other funky color and is actually pretty much the same nice brown color that I get from my favorite hairdresser.

Donna-hope the hip is feeling better. I find I really stiffen up when I have those days of being at my desk and in my chair all day. I do find that getting up and moving around helps.

Nancy-hope you continue to feel better. I know you want to get back into your exercise routine but please remember what the doctor says and don't overdue.

Karen-loved the pictures of you and your DD. I'm glad the saga of the klepto girl are winding down. She does seem like she's disturbed or really looking for all the wrong kind of attention. Glad that you enjoyed your birthday dinner!

Rhonda-glad to hear that Erin and Jackson are coming for a visit. You could use a good dose of some Jackson time!

Hope everyone is feeling well and ready to enjoy the weekend ahead.

Sometimes you need to do just exactly what you did last night.

You've mentioned sweet tea and hush puppies, so I know you have to have originally been one of the GRITS (Girls Raised in the South). :-)

Patty, this one's for you, taken before the sun was really up.

It's supposed to be another beautiful day here and I'm loving this kind of weather. Got my shower and steamed up the bathroom to try to help my coughing. Hair is washed and needs to be dried and fixed.

Last night a little before 2 AM I started my first letter to Rob. It's been the first time I've felt I could sit down and write. Of course, I had lots of questions. He may answer them in his first letter to me, but knowing him, probably not. ;-) I tried to keep it pretty light, newsy, and encouraging.

Susan, have fun at the party.

Karen, glad the klepto issue seems to be resolved. Your DD is very level-headed. Loved the pictures of you both. You looked like you were ready to party. :-)

Ginger, cl - pt is our very own Poultry Princess Patty, true royalty.

Nancy, I know it's hard not to overdo, but I hope you'll take it easy till you're totally well. I'm not the best person to say that, but I do know what we "should" do.

I already told last night what my plans are for the day and I'm really looking forward to them. I noticed the yard tools are off the front porch across the street, so they must have gotten Caiden's tools to help his parents in the yard.

Good morning Patty-cakes and Girls.

Sunshine, blue sky, trees are budding. It's brisk...but Spring is totally here...inside AND out (loved that, Patty).

My boys are outside mowing and weed-eating and doing lawn chores. My Man has taken our girl to Best Buy to look into getting a new radio for her car. Or at least the car she will be driving. She only has her permit still, but it is inevitable that she gets her license (as much as I try to fight it!).

Plans for today...

I slept in until 7:15. It was heavenly. Russell ran out and picked me up a cuppa Starbucks and then he headed out to run errands. I had an awesome quiet time. It is sweet to be back on a first name basis with God. I had so been avoiding Him.

I made bread on Thursday and this morning used up the last few slices for french toast. Oh. My. I knocked the boy out of the way to get the last slice! Actually, there was plenty to go around and still a few pieces left. But I will definitely be making break. I LOVED DOING IT. Who knew? I never did!

Today I am (still in my pj's as I type this at 10:35) doing laundry. Doing some cleaning. Taping off some trim to begin painting. Still working on simplifying my home. I have struggled with finding a color to paint our bedroom and last night it hit me that I really just want a nice white. White on the walls, white on the trim. Not because I don't like color...in fact, I decided white would be best because I DO like color and want to be able to use color in my bed linens, window treatments, etc., and be able to change it whenever I want to without having to worry about the paint color. So, as much as I fought it, I think I'm going with white. Our bedroom is not well lit with natural light, so...I think this will work. We have cherry furniture. I think I will take before and after pics. Although I'm not sure when we will tackle this project. After I get the trim painted in the hallways and stairways, most likely. Also looking for a nice, french yellow for our kitchen. So much to do~

The girl has a volleyball tournament tomorrow. I'm thinking of not going and letting the man go. Maybe showing up later (it's about an hour away) if they are on track to play in the playoffs/championship.

Our sweet, 13 year old puppy
