What a lovely post. Sometimes it's hard to remember blessings in the midst of all the world can throw at you. Thank you for reminding me:.)

Good Morning,
The sun is shining but looking at our indoor/outdoor thermometer it's a bit chilly at around 27 degrees.
Thank you for the post this morning Patty. Over the past few weeks while wondering what is going to happen DH and I have both found people who are truly blessings in our lives. He was telling me yesterday that many people were calling the dealership on Friday to wish everyone well and sorry that this had to have happened. There was one customer that DH only knows through the phone. He struggled a few years back with a rather large business investment that just didn't wasn't going well. He prayed that God would show him the way and how to deal with the situation. Where one door closed another opened and things turned around for his business. He asked the parts manager how everyone was doing and whether everyone had a place to do. He was told about DH and the other guy in parts are still out there looking and his response was that if either of them ran into a financial issue they were to come see him and he would be looking to see if there were openings anywhere. This is a customer who has probably never met either one of them except through the phone but was willing to lend a helping hand in any way he could. In this day and age of the terrible things you read and hear and how easy it is to become cynical about the world here's a guy who struggled and is now ready to help someone else in their own struggle. I look at the board and how each of you have extended your love and prayers and support. I looked around the room at DD's party yesterday and saw how many people there, both friends and family that are such blessings in our lives. Yes that door is still closed and I hope another opens soon but in the meantime I know that there are a whole lot of people both near and far that are helping us face our fears and help us through this time and that we are honored to have in our lives. To all of you I say Thank you.
The party was really nice yesterday although younger DD's BF came and wasn't feeling well. They hadn't gotten much sleep the night before and although he was exhausted he couldn't sleep after we got home. He was also running a low grade temperature. Hopefully he'll be feeling better today. He drove down in his car and it's a stick which of course DD can't drive. So I hope he's feeling better and feels well enough for the drive home today. Cousins met cousins, gfs and bfs met extended family members. It was fun and interesting and everyone had a good time.
I unfortunately have to go into work today. I did offer if they needed me that I would come in on Sunday. Doesn't mean I want to. I guess there was stuff in my boxes for my desk that no one knew what it was or where to put it. So I'll go in for a while. My co worker and I don't even have our actual desks yet. Apparently they're somewhere in Canada.
At some point I need to get to the grocery store. I really didn't shop last weekend so Mother Hubbard's cupboard is pretty bare and no there are no dog bones in there either.
Nancy-I hope you did get some sleep last night. When I have those nights it seems like it takes forever to get myself feeling rested.
Rhonda-enjoy your time with Erin and Jackson.
Sassy-I was so sorry to hear about your dog.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I love when food reminds us of how daggone lucky we are!
Great post this morning, Patty-cakes.
I am ready for Sunday school and church. I'm sure my boys are too...lol. I hear the play station going so I better take a second and holler down there...
Okay I'm back and they say they are ready to leave so I'll only take a moment.
This is the one place that I always come back to. I wander away for a bit...life becomes busy and

Onion Sunday Hello, all! I have to agree...another great post Patty. At first I thought you were posting about a new beatitude but then realized it was about food. I find so much comfort is cooking for the family and onions are a main ingredient in a lot of recipes. I wonder if I could cook without them? Something would definitely be missing.
The party for granddaughter was nice yesterday. I didn't cook or bring a thing and it was nice to be a "lady" again. It could get to be a habit.
Got a disturbing email from DD today. "Same ole

Today I'm trying to recuperate from the cold that's been threatening all week as well as the headache I woke up with. Laundry today (which isn't a big effort), and I'm going to put We Are Marshall on the DVD player and have a great good cry!
Tonight I'm baking a ham and making my roommate's version of scalloped potatoes. Between that and the soup I made last night, I won't have to cook (except breakfast) all week. If anyone's interested, here's the potato recipe. It's super easy, feeds an army, and it's absolutely YUMMY!
30 ounce bag frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
1 large onion, chopped
8 oz. sharp cheddar, shredded
2 cans mushroom soup concentrate
1 pint sour cream
Parmesan cheese, preferably the grainy kind
Combine the potatoes, onion and cheese in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl whisk together the mushroom soup and sour cream to make a sauce. Pour over the potatoes and mix thoroughly. Spread in a 13x9 baking pan and sprinkle lavishly with the Parmesan. Bake until brown and bubbly (time will
