It's cool, overcast and rainy here this morning. We definitely need the rain. I don't mind it. As long as the wind isn't blowing and it's not 30 degrees.
Today. Hmmmm. I think Sammi and I will take a walk. She's gotten more depressed as the time has gone on. She didn't finish her food last night. That has NEVER happened. So Russell added some yummy people food stuff to it and stood there encouraging her while she ate more. She perked up later when the kids were outside shooting hoops. She hates to be inside while they are outside having fun. She wasn't her usual self, but she perked up a bit. A walk would do both of us some good.
One of my friends, Jen, had a baby last week so I am off to pick up a gift to go with the baby blanket I crocheted him. I don't know about y'all, but when I had each of my children, I just wanted people to go away. I really, really wanted that time to bond with each child, sleep as much as I could, basically just be with our own little family. I appreciated people coming by, but I hated it, too. So I never go to visit a new baby the first week. I figure (actually I KNOW) she had more than enough company.
I need to hit the office for a few hours this afternoon. Brett has volleyball practice tonight so I need to come up for a plan for that. I think we'll work on some basics for the first 30-45 minutes and then play King of the Court the last hour. Three players on each court, whoever wins the point stays on and becomes "King" and another three come on. Whoever wins the point stays on...and it keeps rotating like that. The girls love playing Queen of the court and it makes them move because there are three, not six players on the court.
Other than that, I'll continue working on my home office reorganization. A lot of which has moved to the dining room to be spread out and gone through.
We have April showers here and temperatures in the 50's already. Hope that maybe the rain will go away and bring a little bit of sunshine. Poor Otto has been sadly neglected with walk time so I hope that after dinner we can both head out for a much needed walk.
Work yesterday was just exhausting. Between being in a new environment, a boss who couldn't quite figure out why things were a little tense, a phone system that wasn't working right, putting trial notebooks together, another night of after 5 and then an after 5 trip to the grocery store plus continuing restless nights of sleep I was just really down in the dumps last night. The whole day was mentally and physically exhausting. A much needed chat with my good friend helped a lot.
DD and her BF went home yesterday despite him still having a 101 temperature. They made it home safely and he immediately went to the doctor. Seems like he has strep throat. I only hope that he didn't share!
Rhonda-I'm glad that you and Tim are able to deal with your situation in a positive way. Sure glad to hear that Claudea came through her procedure OK and that they'll be able to find answers to her issues. Sorry to hear that it will be awhile before you hear from Rob-I'm sure that must be really hard for you. Thinking of you.
Nancy-glad to hear that the creeping crud is finally creeping away. Hope you're feeling better and better each day.
Everything else that was in my head seems to have escaped. My brain seems to be much like a colander these days. Those tiny holes and everything just drains right through!
Thinking of you all and hope that you enjoy a terrific Tuesday. Time for me to finish packing up and face the work pile that's been sitting for about a week!
Oh my … I did read posts and recall news about chickens arriving, full time jobs, part time jobs, annoying phone systems, late work hours, strep, sad puppies from not walking, sad puppies from missing buddies, volleyball practice, babies, a new drum, enjoying a useless and fulfilling day, a root canal, cold temps, long work day, and no eating after 7 pm (that person must be insane, LOL).
