DH has a new job and we are both grateful and relieved that the roller coaster has come in for a landing.

This is a stress relief for sure.

I'm so glad that the pressure is off. Keeping good thoughts that this may be better than expected or a stepping stone to

Susan congratulations to your husband with getting the new job. These car dealers are horrible and they wonder why some many people do not return for servicing. So cut throat but nonetheless its a job. A job is better then no job and like you said having a day during the week to pursue other roads is a good thing. Who knows, maybe they will realize what a gem they have in your husband and put his salary to what they agreed to originally. Thank goodness you have the same benefits too. Having to buy them on your own is so expensive. That runs Bill over $1,200 a month. Such a rip off, but necessary. Did he stick with Ford or move into another company? How far is his commute now? When does he start? Did the other dealership pay your husband and the others for "cleaning up" this week?

Yes he stuck with what he's known for the past 30 years. The boss did treat the guys well for coming in. Before DH got the offer the old boss did offer to keep him on for the next 2 weeks to help finish cleaning up the place.

He will be traveling a bit more. His less than 10 minute commute will now have him going still in Nassau but more towards the Queens line. He starts on Wednesday so he'll go in to the old place for two days and help out and pick up a few $ for that.

We are very happy that the benefit package will stay the same. The amount for a Cobra was indeed frightening and some of the other places he talked to the money out of pocket to pay for insurance was mind boggling and the benefits weren't even very good. We have always been extremely grateful for the benefit package we have and still are.

Great news, Susan! What a relief that you have the same benefits...that is a big load off your shoulders.

I hope it works out and knowing he has a day off to persue something else if it comes up is the best of both worlds.

Good luck to DH in his new job!

Grace
