Thanks so much for all of your thoughts, prayers, e-mails, etc. The funeral was, of course, very difficult. But life just goes on for the rest of us. I can't help but wonder how it can go on for our friends. I will be checking on them tomorrow. Just a call to say hi...thinking about you...that sort of thing. I'm also going to be making some bread tomorrow (who knew I was so daggone domestic????) ;) and I'll drop some off to them. Shawn and Sarah are doing better. Nick's name still comes up every day, but as I had told them right after it happened when it was still too painful to discuss...there would soon come a time when we would be able to talk about Nick and all the joy he brought to us and all the fun times we remember with him. Thankfully, we are already getting there.
Got my mammo results today. I didn't know what to think. This is the first time I've not heard from my doc or the facility the next day. In all of the letter notifications, I've never received one where the very top "Everything looks great" box is checked. Until today. Yay! So I go back in a year for the first time in a long time. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts for that, too! I've felt remarkably calm about it all so it HAD to be all of you!
Saturday we head to Longwood University with Shawn for accepted student open house. Not that he won't stand out in the fall as one of the few guys on campus (35% are male) but also one of a fewer number as a male going into education, but we still wanted to meet with the dean of education and the dean of the language department and the two german professors. Shawn isn't a "stay in the shadows kind of kid" anyway, but we (and by we I mean Russell) thought it would be cool to meet some of his professors.
That's about it from here. I'm liking my blog/board/e-mail break. I'm getting a lot more done! lol. But I will be back on or about May 1.
You guys are in my thoughts and prayers every single day and I miss you.
Hugs...

Great news about your good mammo results Sassy! Woo Hoo
My older DS is an elementary school teacher and taught kindergarten and 5th grade. You wouldn't believe how he was snapped up for a job. He ended up in Norfolk Va and he was the only "father" figure for so many of those kids. He now does landscaping but he grateful to know he can always go back to teaching. I am sure your son will be a valuable asset to the teaching profession.
