I guess I've had my share of mixed messages today and I certainly hope you've all had a much better day than me. Share your day please...

So the day didn't really go so well today. Started the day with my boss asking me for a balance on a bill for a client...$0.00-well that can't be right-Ok so I either don't know what a zero balance looks like or your bookkeeper made a mistake. The day just went downhill from there. By 4:30 I felt like the office owed me a case of Lady Clairol and replacement hair for the hair I probably had pulled out of my head.

It was a beautiful day though. Pleasant walking conditions this evening. Otto and I met up with his friend Oz and it was nice to have company walking. We haven't seen Oz all winter. I think his owner is retired so they do their walking at other times of the day. This man was telling me that it was the first day that Oz was feeling better. Turns out the dog hasn't been himself, was in obvious pain and after one trip to the vet to be told there was nothing wrong they brought him back home and the dog just got worse. At one point his breathing was so bad they thought they were going to lose him. Back to a different emergency clinic where they did tests, and xrays and blood work to still find nothing out of the ordinary so back home he went. The vet called later about the xrays and after expending approximately $800 it turns out the dog had 2 big pockets of gas! Fortunately Oz is feeling much better and back to his usual perky self.

I think I'm about ready to retire to my chair for the evening. My dryer has buzzed but I have chosen to ignore it. I've had enough for one day.

Hope you have all had a good day.

Susan, I meant to address your work situation this morning and then it totally went through the sieve. I think it's time for a heart-to-heart with your boss before it gets any worse. Apparently, they are totally oblivious to their biased, unprofessional ways and don't know how to talk to or appreciate someone who should be considered a valued employee. He was over the line in implying that you weren't telling the truth, and you have every right to let him know that in a calm, businesslike manner. He should know that he's setting up another morale breaking Sunshine 2 situation with the vacation incident. Perhaps, you could talk with the other woman in the office and you could approach him about that together -- strength in numbers. As long as he gets away with it, he'll continue to do it. I hope things improve soon though. Hugs to you!

Nancy, your new mower sounds awesome!! Happy for you. I may be getting a Honda mower this Saturday. We'll see if it's easy enough to pull start or not.

Patty, hurray for you and your method!! I hope things continue well in both houses, but that yours is the overall winner. How often does the service guy come? Glad to hear you're going to have some spring type weather too.

Not a whole lot to tell today, because I spent the bulk of it at the nursing home. Dad's still in a negative mode, but I got him to eat a little at lunch and he did well at dinner. He didn't want to do PT and fussed about it all day. When he did do it, he did really well, all things considered. He had a shower, hair washed, and a shave and looked more like himself after all that and having exercised. I pedaled the little foot bike about half an hour during his shower. He gets exasperated with me when I keep trying to point out the bright side. Right now he's not in the mood to try to see the bright side.

People seemed to like my haircut and noticed it more than how much lighter my hair is. Either that, or they're not crazy about the color. It needs to grow a little to be more like I want it. Wish it could grow without the roots showing. Is that asking so much?

I called Anna today and told her Tim and I would like to pay for her trip to NJ as part of Rob's graduation gift, if she could make it. She was very pleased and said she'd check with her mother. She called back and said that due to the death of her grandmother, there would be so much going on that she wouldn't be able to go. We're really sorry about that. At least he'll be home the next day. She and her mother were very appreciative though.

Got home and one of the lawn mowers I put at the curb was gone. One down and one to go. I'm glad to get rid of them. The space in the garage is more valuable. I do need to get a new mower soon, because the grass is already about 4 days overdue to be mowed.

I have some Kashi Good Friends muffins in the oven, so I'll have something healthy to snack on later tonight when I get the carb munchies. I have

Hey ladies, beautiful day here on Long Island. I am hoping that spring is really here. Although it was chilly this morning at 6:30 when I headed to the gym. Had to put the defrosters on before I could see to pull out of the driveway. Yesterday I had to take Katie to see her cardiologist. She should be seen once a year and I can not believe its been almost 2 years since she was there last. They were so surprised how big she has gotten and how much older she looks and acts. Katie was 5ft 2in yesterday...........she is bigger then me! I only worked until 12 yesterday then pulled Katie out of school. Making that drive into Nassau County is a pain in the butt and I am spoiled. She had a 1:00 appointment and we got out of there around 3:15. Susan Katie and I went right past your son's bike store and we had lunch at the Panera by your house. This morning my boss had double court appearances in two different courts so I had to run to our local court (we call it kangaroo court, lol) to hand in a letter asking to adjourn the one case. I almost panicked when the lady behind the window suggested I stay and see the judge.........OMG! But as it turns out it was not necessary, thank goodness. Got into the office around 9:45 and I was the first one there. The other sect had to drop off a file out east for a closing that was scheduled for 11:00. My boss was going to right to the closing from court this morning. I worked all day and was very busy. My boss caught me by surprise when he handed the other sect. and myself each $300. He said it was for all the good work we have been doing for him and helping him close that big file last week. What a great feeling that was. This past weekend we picked out all our appliances, I am very excited. We decided to go with the Stainless GE Profile series. Not putting the microwave above the stove. Between Margie's warning and the fact I am getting a smooth glass top cooking counter I am afraid someone would drop something onto the glass top. We also ordered our new windows, we have two windows in the kitchen that will be replaced and two in Billy's bedroom. These last 4 are old wood windows from the 60's and we are putting in the white vinyl like the rest of the house had already. Those I believe will be done next week. I have also picked out my counter top. Decided to go with Sile Stone in the color known as Kona Beige. It looks really a lot like granite but its completely maintence free. We decided to pick a "D" shaped sink too. It is coming together slowly. I need to check out flooring next and tiles for my back splash. Now that I know what our counter will look like and since I have a sample I can do more shopping. I think we will paint that brick wall and pull wall paper off this coming weekend. Well that is it for tonight. Tomorrow is a short day..........I work till 3 but we will head out to see Daniel tomorrow if the weather permits. Hope you all have a wonderful night.

That was such a kind offer you made to Rob's gf to pay for her to go see him.
