I guess I've had my share of mixed messages today and I certainly hope you've all had a much better day than me. Share your day please...

So the day didn't really go so well today. Started the day with my boss asking me for a balance on a bill for a client...$0.00-well that can't be right-Ok so I either don't know what a zero balance looks like or your bookkeeper made a mistake. The day just went downhill from there. By 4:30 I felt like the office owed me a case of Lady Clairol and replacement hair for the hair I probably had pulled out of my head.
It was a beautiful day though. Pleasant walking conditions this evening. Otto and I met up with his friend Oz and it was nice to have company walking. We haven't seen Oz all winter. I think his owner is retired so they do their walking at other times of the day. This man was telling me that it was the first day that Oz was feeling better. Turns out the dog hasn't been himself, was in obvious pain and after one trip to the vet to be told there was nothing wrong they brought him back home and the dog just got worse. At one point his breathing was so bad they thought they were going to lose him. Back to a different emergency clinic where they did tests, and xrays and blood work to still find nothing out of the ordinary so back home he went. The vet called later about the xrays and after expending approximately $800 it turns out the dog had 2 big pockets of gas! Fortunately Oz is feeling much better and back to his usual perky self.
I think I'm about ready to retire to my chair for the evening. My dryer has buzzed but I have chosen to ignore it. I've had enough for one day.
Hope you have all had a good day.

The weather here was full of mixed messages today.

My today was … a little computer work, pack a little … a little computer work, pack a lot … a little computer work, pack a little … a little computer work, pack a lot … and the cycle continues into this evening.

Susan, I meant to address your work situation this morning and then it totally went through the sieve. I think it's time for a heart-to-heart with your boss before it gets any worse. Apparently, they are totally oblivious to their biased, unprofessional ways and don't know how to talk to or appreciate someone who should be considered a valued employee. He was over the line in implying that you weren't telling the truth, and you have every right to let him know that in a calm, businesslike manner. He should know that he's setting up another morale breaking Sunshine 2 situation with the vacation incident. Perhaps, you could talk with the other woman in the office and you could approach him about that together -- strength in numbers. As long as he gets away with it, he'll continue to do it. I hope things improve soon though. Hugs to you!
Nancy, your new mower sounds awesome!! Happy for you. I may be getting a Honda mower this Saturday. We'll see if it's easy enough to pull start or not.
Patty, hurray for you and your method!! I hope things continue well in both houses, but that yours is the overall winner. How often does the service guy come? Glad to hear you're going to have some spring type weather too.
Not a whole lot to tell today, because I spent the bulk of it at the nursing home. Dad's still in a negative mode, but I got him to eat a little at lunch and he did well at dinner. He didn't want to do PT and fussed about it all day. When he did do it, he did really well, all things considered. He had a shower, hair washed, and a shave and looked more like himself after all that and having exercised. I pedaled the little foot bike about half an hour during his shower. He gets exasperated with me when I keep trying to point out the bright side. Right now he's not in the mood to try to see the bright side.
People seemed to like my haircut and noticed it more than how much lighter my hair is. Either that, or they're not crazy about the color. It needs to grow a little to be more like I want it. Wish it could grow without the roots showing. Is that asking so much?
I called Anna today and told her Tim and I would like to pay for her trip to NJ as part of Rob's graduation gift, if she could make it. She was very pleased and said she'd check with her mother. She called back and said that due to the death of her grandmother, there would be so much going on that she wouldn't be able to go. We're really sorry about that. At least he'll be home the next day. She and her mother were very appreciative though.
Got home and one of the lawn mowers I put at the curb was gone. One down and one to go. I'm glad to get rid of them. The space in the garage is more valuable. I do need to get a new mower soon, because the grass is already about 4 days overdue to be mowed.
I have some Kashi Good Friends muffins in the oven, so I'll have something healthy to snack on later tonight when I get the carb munchies. I have
