I have a number of kinds of flowers blooming. Front bed has large bright pink snapdragons going crazy, as well as various kinds of alstroemerias and a stray ageratum and salvia that came up from last year. The butterfly garden has
J-Deb, what an unusual dinner you had. I ended up with a 6" turkey sub from Subway. We did end up dancing a bit tonight. The small children were the first to go with the music, and as the night wore on and people had more wine, etc., some adults joined in. The band was excellent. They did a lot of the older stuff like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, Santana, and things from that era. They're all drs. except one guy is a technician of some kind (The drummer is a plastic surgeon!). The female vocalist is an RN and sounded just like Stevie Nicks on her songs, Bonnie Raitt on others, and was just plain good. It was such a neat venue in a trendy part of town. The preservation society is housed in a pretty little chapel with lovely grounds and the stage was in front of the building. People brought chairs and other set-ups and there was everything from Subway sandwiches to the chicken nuggets, fries, and funnel cakes they sold, to extensive gourmet meals people brought. The weather was perfect and the moon was full. Couldn't have asked for a nicer night.
I had told them about the dance group, Dance Evolution, at River City Brewing Co., and we were actually going to go see them and dance, but the band played half an hour longer than scheduled (a good thing), and I was the one who asked for a rain check. I am such a party animal.
