If I'd read your post first, I'd see you answered my question. I was born in DC and lived there and in Southern MD for 12 years. Still have lots of relatives up that way and go to visit periodically.
I have a lot of perennials in my butterfly garden, but since I live in FL, I don't know if they'd do well up there. Some I can think of are Bush Daisy, Cat's Whiskers, Cigar Plant, Firecracker Plant, Milkweed, Butterfly Bush, Day Lilies, Oriental lilies, Alstroemeria, Perennial Dianthus, Agapanthus, Agastache, Coneflower, Foxglove, Ruellia (Mexican Petunia, which reseeds freely and is considered almost invasive in Florida), Guara, Gerbera Daisy, Double Hibiscus, Lantana, Lavender, Salvia, Plumbago,
I'm glad you didn't have major damage and that your surgery went well. I remember after the 3 procedures I had how hard it was to do nothing. I couldn't vacuum for 3 months. I thought that sounded good until it happened and I couldn't do anything else either. Hang in there and try to follow orders. It will be worth it. Hope your recovery continues to go well.
I'm so glad that we heard from you. Hope your recovery from surgery goes well. Sorry to hear that you had some damage to your home from the hail but glad that it wasn't worse.
Sorry that I haven't offered my hello and welcome to the board! My mind seems to be a bit preoccupied these days! Good for you for sticking with it and finding the right diagnosis for yourself. It seems so easy for the professionals to tell patients that they shouldn't listen to their own instincts about their health.

The walking group sounds like a lot of fun!
